He posts his lectures online for you to watch, they're very helpful. He explains things great in the lectures. There is a lot of homework assigned, but you get unlimited attempts as long as it's completed before the due date. The third test was the hardest, however, the other tests were very similar to the homework. He will help if you have issues.

He is not very understanding, and holds grudges for life. Its hard to succeed if youre not on his good side. He grades test heavy, but he doesnt give partial credit for any test problems, even if you do everything right and make one little mistake. Would not take again.

If you're a premed student, I don't recommend taking CHE 133 or 134 online. If you're not and you just want to get an A, take Chem in class. It's rather difficult to learn via an online course, and it is important for the MCAT to have a good grasp on Gen Chem. Janusa is a great dude though. Very helpful, always responds promptly... Not hard class

Janusa is a great professor, however chemistry is a difficult subject so learning online can be hard. I felt that I had to teach myself the material from his videos rather than learning from someone. This class is VERY time consuming for someone that struggles with chem. I do not recommend taking him online if math/sciences are hard for you!!!!

Comment:
Dr. Janusa's lectures are all online. for CHE 133, you'll have 2 tests online (you can cheat) and 3 tests in person. For CHE 134 there is only one online test and 3 in person. each test is worth 105 points, so there are bonus points but there is no specific bonus question. The final review gives extra credit to homework grade. very easy class!

Dr. J is a great professor. I took his online Che 133 class. His lectures are all online. They are boring sometimes but goes over material very well. I am currently taking Che 134 with him online. He is in his office a lot, too. He is willing to help anyone who ask for it.

Do the homework. It's just a completion grade but the information is not too difficult to understand. The tests (including the final) is just like the review he gives or the homework. He's a nice guy and will help you. Sometimes the online videos are long but his examples help on the homework.

(Online) Dr. Janusa's lecture videos are easy to understand and learn from. The homework assignments aren't free(most of the time) but aren't hard either. I'm not someone who studies much, and I feel like passing is easy in this class. While it's not a free "A" or "B", it's almost (but not quite) a free pass. I recommend him.

Janusa Is a really sweet guy even though he may try to put on a front, he's a real softy. He's more than willing to help you understand the material if you just ask him. Do not be afraid to ask a question if you don't know whats going on, because his TA's never know what's going on. His class is not a piece of cake but its passable.

Dr Janusa is a very straight forward teacher. He tells you what to expect in class. I just finished this class today. Overall a great experience, three test and a final within one month is a lot of work. From the minute the man entered the classroom until the end he was strictly talking chemistry. No side tracks. A true professional & class act.

I had Dr. Janusa when he was teaching at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. He is the BEST professor that I've ever had. You will not be disappointed. I had him for multiple Chemistry classes and learned the most in his classes. And he's a great guy too. He is that one Professor that you hope to have for every class.

Dr. Janusa is not for the non-chem major. He is the chair of the dept for a reason-he already knows all about it and he is not afraid to let you know just how stupid you really are. Think twice before taking Dr. Janusa.
