All you do in class is look at a PowerPoint and take notes. Terrible teacher. You have absolutely no assignments. Didn't use the book in class at all. I read a few pages out of the book on my own time. He tells a bunch of stories that don't relate a lot of the time. He is also extremely vague and the final was so hard.

Mike Is a really great professor, College success from what I've heard is a boring and dull class that has little to no worth. But I would have to say quite the opposite when it comes to mike! He cares about the students and his lectures and videos are inspirational! All I can say is if you come in with an open mind and attitude you'll learn a lot!

the first day of class he says that he is the gatekeeper to the healthcare field and if he feels you are not fit to work in healthcare he will not pass you. the guy was a complete egotistical nut. he thinks because he took a de-escalation course that he is Steven Seagal. According to him he understands operant conditioning or better than skinner

I hated this class. His information was frequently wrong, and he refused to accept corrections. His tests were extremely outdated, and he took pride in how tricky the question wording was. Tests were graded on a curve, I was one of the top scores but without the curve I would have had a D. He had a huge ego, and loved to talk about himself.

This class was so entertaining. I took it in Enumclaw, but WOW! He knows a lot about Psych, and entertains you with stuff that's really out there. He's funny. The lectures are full, so take good notes. The test Q's are several sentences long, asking you questions that are applied to real life. This class made me interested in Psych!

Amazing teacher, very helpful. Has a specific personality certain people might not understand. Relates topics to real world interesting things which make them stick. Teaches on a curve. Overall very good teacher.

He does not thoroughly go over the concepts but simply just reads the slides that he provides. Tests are pretty easy if you know the concepts, but I found it easier to read the textbook than listen to his lectures.

I found this class extremely difficult and not because I am incompetant but because the instructor seemed to like to make things more difficult than they needed to be. Do not take this class if you like to ask questions because he definitely likes to let his students know how much he knows and how little they do. He was condesending and unhelpful!

I loved this class. We rarely used the textbook, but I still learned a lot. He was egotistical and told a lot of stories about himself, but that added some humor to the class. Quizzes were difficult, but graded on a curve. Because the textbook is rarely used, attendance is a MUST. No skipping here. He offers an extra credit paper to help grades.

Awesome class. All I can say is if you are looking for an easy course, don't bother. If you want a challenging course full of useful and interesting information, sign up. Make sure you take notes, and don't expect an action packed thrill ride; it's still a college class.

I loved Mike! He has a very dry sense of humor which I happen to find very funny, but about half of our class didn't. He has a ton of very crazy stories, which made learning easy. He taught all by power point and had no additional homework, so his teaching style is very simple. I would take another class from him easily!

this guy is a joke. weird, monotone, boring, and one of those teachers who thinks the world revolves around the subject he teaches and everyone should know it. taught a 100 level class like a 200 level. im a 4.0 student and barely slipped by with a 3.5. i do not recommend him. avoid at all costs. especially for psyc 200

I'm usually an A student but this one was rare. It was my first time I had to make it as pass/no credit class. I'll NEVER EVER take him again. He says "OH DAMN" about 235098 times in the quarter. Only thing I liked about him is that all tests are graded on curves. If there was no curve, EVERYONE would fail.

Brislawn is crazy. The class was not that hard but could not stand his big ego! Some of his test questions were completly rediculous! However there is no homework and all his tests were on a curve so as long as you are in the class with some lazies you should get at least a B! Study for the tests!

from the other reviews, i can't believe it was the same guy. but i had him for developmental or life-span. he was NOT easy. believes he has the ONLY true understanding of Skinner... I liked him as an individual, but some of the things he said were just crazy, no way to substantiate. like most social science guys, a definite liberal bias.

Teacher is cocky. Sometimes he fails to back up his lucrative information (ESP is real/FBI uses psychics), but the class is very laid back and interesting for the most part. Graded on a curve which is nice when your classmates are less than genius. NO HOMEWORK!

Great Instructor. Plenty of stories to tie the text to the concepts, very funny and easy to work with. If you don't like his class then Psych is not for you. Hand writing is appauling but that is half the battle. and be prepared to take notes in your own words! He gives you the terms, it is up to you to define them. GRCC needs to hire this guy!

Don't bother buying the book, Brislawn will just bash its content. Good use of examples to prop up what he's teaching. EXTREMELY picky about word choice. Doesn't always practice what he preaches. Basically, he's right and you're wrong. Idea for that book he supposedly intends on writing: "Grappling with Maniacs; a Developmentalist's Perspective"
