Horrendous teaching style! vary random. Mostly student discussions and presentations-so, the students led the lectures. Weekly quizzes are terrible and very difficult. He is a lazy teacher, thus you have to teach yourself the course material!

Extremely frustrating. Student led lectures 50% of term, poor quality. Prof led lectures, confusing, random. Textbook is a rant. No foundational knowledge in this course. Self study 100%. Regurg only. Worst course. Am returning mature student.

He is probablly one of the worst prof's in the sociology department. Does not explain the group paper at all and decides to give everyone bad marks. His tests are equally stupid and the only way to do good on them is to understand what he is asking. DONT TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WILL REGRET IT!

I have never had a worse professor than Durieux. He didn't actually teach the anything, and his weekly quizes were more a test of how well you can interpret the question than the course material. He does not want his students to succeed and refused to give anyone an A on their group paper, because it would reflect poorly on him. I could write more.

I thought he was good.Thoroughly explained concepts and made sure to answer any questions anyone had.Very down to earth,seems to understand students and easy to talk to.it's not an easy course if you haven't taken statistics yet.

His class is all about speaking your mind. If you're into that sort of thing, then it's great; otherwise... I really enjoyed his class because he gives you a chance to be creative. A lot of his assignments are vague, but you come out with something interesting in the end. If you need someone to explain stuff to you, then he's not the one for you

Excellent Professor. He is down to earth, very caring of his students. Puts a lot of time and effort into his presentations. Although sometimes the material is dry, he tries his best to get his point across. He is very understanding and helpful. Very pleasant to have as a professor!

I would have to say a good professor when it comes to getting the material across to students.Book was sort of useless as well as crappy group presentations. I would have to say the only time I learned is when he went through his slides. VERY good prep course for 400 level classes with the presentations and discussions. Take his class!

I am a slgy major, and I found his teaching style horrendous. Do not go to class EVER, everything is posted on Bb. Mark admitted that material covered in class is not on exams. What is that?! Very disorganized and brutally off topic. I will never take a class with him again. His exams are equally ridiculous and are not properly prepared.

Mark has been the best prof I have had since beginning my post-secondary studies! I learned so much from him. He was always open for help an is very friendly to all his students. I highly recommend him!

I took a saturday class with him. Although the subject was interesting along with the class discussions, you could probably skip his lectures and pass. He puts everything to do on BB. Nice guy but sometimes his lectures were kind of dry.

It was interesting. He brought in a lot of guest speakers. Was pretty much an independent study class, lots of online quizzes and contributing to a blog every week. 4000 word paper. I find him to be really ambiguous and I'm still not sure what I was supposed to do in that class.

He's helpful (if you ask him), the postcards are easy, and there are no tests (only a paper, 10 online quizzes, and postcards). He didn't really teach anything in class that I couldn't learn from the book, but what I did learn was very influential. His focus on social interaction is explicit, with great readings. I'd recommend him.

Worst prof.,didn't help with the paper at all or should i say his help is of no help.Makes you write a 300 word paragraph every week.Really hard weekly online quizez(rather have an easy midterm and final than those stupid quizes).His lectures were extremly boring.But u have to go cause there are questions on the quiz from the vidios he shows.
