Very easy. I pay zero attention in class. His class is so w/e, it makes you wanna skip every class and pay no attention. That's when the midterm and final hits you bad. But since he's a easy grader, i managed to do well with zero effort. Overall, he's a nice guy. THe quizzes and exams questions are ridiculously hard.

Oh gosh. He is not that bad but his quizzes and tests are horrible. If he tells you to read poems, make sure you memorize them. His tests are about recognizing the lines from which poem were they, or a quote from a story and you are responsible to know who addressed it and to who. I think it's ridiculous.

I took a Journalism Class with him. He is one of the best teachers I have had at Baruch. Very down to earth. Easy to deal with, normal, sane. I would highly recommend taking his class. There is no real syllabus; it is easy to get a good grade. If you like to write I would definitely take this class. He understands and values his students.

I took Eng 2500,3400 and 4730 with Schwartzman. I often found that students have no respect for him and think he is nuts when in fact he is brilliant. His papers are creative and not the boring dull ones we are used to. I recommend his literary journalism course, great rading selections. He is understandable and easy going. Lots to learn from him.

You will read a fair amount, but selections are good and most are short. Lots of discussion. Quizzes are somewhat easy if you read. Some quiz questions are random and of minor details easy to overlook. If you miss one quiz he is not apt to hold it against you. He dislikes tardiness but is often a little late. 2 papers, not long ones. Nice guy!!!

His style of teaching (allows you to discuss in groups anything you want) contributes to making your group soo cohesive and friendly. You'll make many friends in his class, unlike anywhere else, where you see people for few semesters but don't know their names.

Last comment is completely unfair toward this professor. He is an absolutely kind person and a teacher. His grading system is fair enough. You do not have to be out of your skin to get a good grade. Just read the textbook.

OH MY GOD! He is so unorganized n unfair. He shows favoritism towards some students. He is late all the time, but doesnt have mercy for students who being late! His quizes are to waste ur time instead of helping u to learn! He has ruined my interest for literature.

When it come to grading well if your average at writing papers easy A if your like me an Immigrant who writes papers that are below average then B Almost everyone got an A- other than me. Had some 2 quizes,1 paper, hw, came late for final GoodP

He's a really nice guy but the class has absolutely no order whatsoever. Assignments are random and not explained well. You have no idea how he determines your grade... and I don't think he knows either.

He is a very easy professor I must say, but I hated him!He did not even have a syllabus for our class. Take him if you like hippie-liberal crap. All we did in class was listen to paingfull Jazz music and watch mentally disturbing plays.I did not learn anything about Journalism like I thought I would. You can't rely on this professor at all!

He is so kind and easy professor you ever had in Baruch. He changed his syllabus for 3 times, because he cant finish all the select works in schedule. This means reduce a lot of reading. He also very understand your situation if you are a ESL student. He really doesn't have too many work and the quizzes is easy. NO matter, just take him.

He's the kind of Professor you always dream of: smart, caring, and cool. He'll also teach you something if you want to learn. Read the assignments, go to class and if you listen and are somewhat smart, you'll get an A. One more thing: don't let his "age" or appearance fool you, he's very capable of teaching you something important.

I always hated & was afraif to take ENG and I have a 3.9 GPA. But my fear dissapeared when I took Schwartzman's class. He is a sweatheart. I really enjoyed this class. And if you read the material, talk about it in class, and show an interest in the subject, you'll be fine. You'll find this class easy compared to other professors.

Didn't think it was a capstone class but was a whole lot of fun. Lots of reading and not much writing. He is a nice dude but is a little old. Very understanding and helpful in terms of any written work. Don't have to read any of the books until perhaps the final. He takes attendance but if you come in late and answer questions, you'll be fine.
