I loved taking 358 with him. He is very knowledgeable on the subject, as the particular theory we are study is actually his own long-term work. One of the first classes I took where the science wasn't set in stone but rather currently evolving. Lectures are important to pay attention to and very interesting.

He is an amazing professor. You can tell he is really passionate about what he teaches and this makes lectures more interesting. I would say he's the best Bio professor iv'e had at Stony Brook thus far

Interesting lectures, ridiculous exams. Theres no point in the hours of learning this information when the exams are designed to trick you. Really disappointed as this couldve been a world renowned class.

He is extremely condescending to his co-professor. The content is relatively interesting, but he does not fully listen to his students' questions. Anyone that disagrees is basically responded to with a "because I said so". There is contradictory research, but he does not explain properly why he is right and they are wrong.

THE BEST! No SBU bio/biochem student should graduate without having taken this class. I watched his and Souza's lectures for FUN!

It's a really interesting class in that it's about his own research. However, it's also hit-or-miss. If you understand the fundamental logic behind his theories, it will help you understand the entire course; otherwise you'll have a harder time on the tests. Every lecture builds on the previous one, so watchattend ALL lectures!

Really interesting and not overly difficult course for an upper div. bio. Takes a little adjustment as most courses one is used to are not based on proving a theory, but if you study the lectures exams are fair and the grading policy is highly generous beyond exams. Not mandatory to go if you purchase the online lectures.

Well, this course goes beyond the concept of scientific method and evolution. If you are a very religious person[though you will most likely be unaware of that] trust me you will be offended and bashing at him all the time. I have seen people getting really mad at him! For a person who believes in science this course makes perfect sense

People are not exaggerating here when they say that this class is life-changing. As a scientist, a citizen and a person I consider myself incredibly lucky to have learned so much from Prof. Bingham. To any and all SBU students--take this class, it will almost certainly change the way you see the world. And you won't regret it.

I have nothing but great things to say about prof Bingham. He's one of the few great teachers at stony brook. Most professors only teach because its in their research contract prof Bingham has a true passion and makes you want to attend class. I highly recommend taking Bio 358 with him its a great class, and he makes you actually enjoy learning.

Professor Bingham is the most intelligent and academically well-rounded person I have ever met in my life. His theory of evolution seems so obvious thanks to how clearly he teaches it. Pay attention in class and read carefully on tests and you'll get an A.

Great professor, has an interesting theory that sounds incredulous at first but the entire semester backs it up with evidence and makes it fascinating. As for the class I got an A, not as easy as everyone says. Gotta either go to lecture or watch the online vids to do well on Equizzes every week and tests can be tricky at times. Would reccomend

DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. However I would reccomend splitting a membership to streaming tutors with a friend. This class doesn't use echos but there are recorded lectures from previous years on streaming tutors. I heard before taking this class how awesome it was, but leaving it I feel as if I was being pressured to join a cult. Totally Brainwashed

This is a very interesting class and Prof. Bingham has a very convincing and comprehensive theory. However, if the theory really explained everything Prof. Bingham says it seems to me he'd be world famous by now. As a class I can't recommend it highly enough for all majors. As a life changing new idea, I'm somewhat more skeptical.

The best bio course for all majors! The previous reviewers pretty much said it all. Prof Bingham is an excellent professor - he is enthusiastic, intelligent, and very willing to help students earn an A in the class. This has been one the most enlightening classes I've taken at SB. Definitely recommend it.

Articulate lecturer, professional, emphasizes key points, passionate. Exams are wordy, so read slowly. Very life-enriching class. Graded on a curve that makes it easy to get an A. Xtra credit options exist. Very interesting material. Definitely take this. Life changing if u like to learn, and take your education seriously. I highly respect him.

VERY WORDY EXAMS but if you pay attention to what it says, you will do fine. The easiest bio course you will take for bio majors. His course centers around one idea and he keeps trying to prove it throughout the semester. Minimal studying needed but you have to be careful of the trick answers on his exams.
