Although she canceled A LOT of classes, I learned SO MUCH in her class! Her class consisted of two tests and one final. Your only homework is to study. I really enjoyed this class!

Phyillis is a nice woman, but when she lectures it never seemed to have structure and she'd often go off on tangents that had nothing to do with the topic.

She is HILARIOUS and has refreshing sense of humor. Her lectures and somewhat interesting. However, she does not use PowerPoint and barely writes on the board. So, if you cannot take real good notes, an A would most likely be very difficult to achieve.

Make sure to go to class. Your notes will help a lot. She goes off on tangents but she's really thorough and hilarious! Pay attention in class and you'll at least get a B. I did.

As an individual she is great. However, as a professor she is somewhat unclear. She is very interested in the subject, but her lectures seem off in relation to the textbook. Her midterms are difficult, esp. the T/F portion. Pay attention in class, take notes, and ask questions. Read, read, read the textbook!

Her syllabus is outdated but other than that I think the class is fine. 3 tests + 1 paper. Her tests are based off lecture notes so you can't miss class. She even curves the exams if the class does poorly. If you put some effort into studying for her exams you'll get an A. if you're lazy and barely study you'll get a B.

Not clear on what she wants. Her syllabus is outdated. Also she waited till the end the of the semester to show the class she was using a different book than the one she assigned. No HW, but it would have helped to make sure were on track. Overall this teacher is lazy and doesnt do enough to make sure her students are on the same page as her.

I loved this professor, she really made Mysticism an interesting class. Her class is pretty easy if you take good notes. Attendance is not mandatory but it's recommended so you don't get left behind. The books are interesting too. Only take her if you're really interested in religion, otherwise you may find the class boring.

Really good professor. Attendance isn't mandatory but it's best to go so you don't fall behind. 2 exams + final. Movies are boring but the class itself isn't - actually a funny professor. You have to be very prepared for the exams because it covers a lot of material. Use the book as a reinforcement for studying esp. for the final.

Really intimidating woman. Test are really difficult (esp, the true/false) and the essay portion is always a surprise. She makes lectures relatively interesting, but make sure to drink coffee before she shows movies (BORING!) You really want to go to class because her lectures are important for the test. Also you need to read the book!

I don't know how so many students gave her good reviews..not possible. She is boring and treats students horribly. All she does is stands there and talks. No powerpoints. Her exams all on notes, but its impossible to tell whats on the exam. If you are trying to get an A or B, don't take this class.

She is amazing. Loves providing info so don't be shy to ask questions. TAKE A LOT OF NOTES. GOOD NOTES. Don't miss class cuz it will bite you back. She is clear if you pay attention. Everything she talks about is on the exams. No surprises. Great professor.

She can be really hard to follow sometimes because her lectures have so much info and she doesn't write anything on the board or use powerpoints, but as long as you write key points you'll be fine. Tests are pretty easy if you show up to class. She's really funny and there will be a couple of times where you'll think "wait, she said what?"

I have taken almost every Professor in this department and this lady needs to be in research. I don't understand how everyone has positive comments. I got a good grade but she does not know how to treat students. I find her more insulting then anything. Don't get me wrong she knows her stuff however, that does not make her a good professor.

...i have to add her classes were the most interesting and enjoyable i had at csun except for my major. 1 of my fav assignments was she made us visit different relig. cultures to get 1st hand experience of lectures and readings. roommate was impressed how much i learned about his relig. read the book, it is fairly written. ASK ?'s! MAKE HER SMILE!

although i did not always agree, overall, she is a good teacher of her subjects and she graded me fairly. i learned she may have a hard shell at times, but inside is a truly sweet gentle sensitive woman who is a human being, relates to students. you can* trust her with your labor and efforts. i appreciate she welcomed ?'s. learned LOTS. will MISS.
