this is a diversity class and he is not very diverse. He joked about genders which could be offensive to some students. Also, COVID-19 is going on and he says he doesn't have to wear a mask during class, which he does, and gets mad at students when they do not show up to class and stay online (hyflex format). He is making it uncomfortable to come.

Ray is really passionate about what he teaches! He works with students to help them be successful in this class! He wants his students to interact with each other and does in class group work. I highly recommend him/his class! he gives reasonable amount of work and will be flexible with you.

Told alot of stories about coaching and his life, but is very good at what he does. knows alot about the physical education field and about michigan schools phys ed programs. overall really nice guy tough grader, but a good teacher.

Great Class, Easy A. Tuesdays are lecture days, and Thursdays are students teaching lessons. Class is not mandatory. You have 2 exams including the final, and 3 really easy projects. I loved his excitement for teaching and would recommend him to anyone at CMU!

Like many other people have said, there are bad stories being spread about this teacher; my advice is ignore it. Not only was the teacher very helpful and honest, he also made the class really interesting. 215 is probably the best class, int the PE dept., and Ray is probably the best prof. I have ever had.

Hmmm...where do I start. Just like many others, I heard numerous horror stories about this class. My roomate loved Ray Allen and said I probably wouldn't. He was right. I got a B in the class, but it was hard even getting that. There isnt much room for error seeing as how there is only 100 points in the class total. GOOD LUCK!

First off I am a horrible student and I got an A in his class. I heard lots of bad stuff about him and that his class was hard, but honestly it wasn't. If you are into sports/coaching the class is even more intresting. His final is take home and worth 40% and you can re-do the other assignments. I also missed about 10 classes too.

I heard a lotta bad stuff about him, but naw, he is not bad at all. He puts ALL his notes on blackboard, so you never have to go to class or take notes. His lectures are intresting at first, but then get boring after 30 min. He gives review sheets and his final is take home.

Hes a good teacher with a lot of knowledge on the subject. However he doesnt explane it well at all. In lab he will help you if you have trouble, but class is hard, he really doesnt teach anything. His 2 test dont ask specifics and you gotta guess. If you can take another teacher do so.

His lectures and labs are really easy, but the quizes are crazy hard. He doesn't really explain what he is looking for and you really have to guess to try and get the right answer, but there is only 2 quizes all semester and they don't have a lot of impact on your grade. They are only worth 10 point

Great and funny guy. Class is very interesting and covers a lot of important P.E. issues. Pay attention to the readings he gives and it will be a breeze!
