Comment:
Dr. Michael is a wonderful person and I enjoyed going to his lecture, but Physics has been the hardest class I have taken at Ashland. If you want to get a B in this class and you're not gifted in math/science, you have to work extremely hard. He is more than willing to help though and does small things to help your grade. If you fail, it's on you.

He is very kind and understanding in both the classroom and while grading. He is going to push you, there is no way around it, but it is in a way that will benefit your education. Overall very good.

Dr. Micheal definitely knows what he is talking about. He isn't great at dumbing things down for students and he has a very fast pace. He aims to push students, but the struggling class did not need to be challenged more. He's always there for extra help. He expects an intense level of commitment to the class from everyone. Fun, but nerve-wracking.

I dislike physics. The concepts are all very interesting but the math I am terrible at. However, though I am terrible at it I stuck it out for two semesters cause I liked the professor and the labs. Dr. Michael is very helpful in and outside the classroom. He is a genuinely nice person who likes all his students. I would recommend this class.

The material itself was hard. Very, very difficult. But Dr. Michael did his best to help us understand it. Do not be afraid to ask him questions; he will help, after all, thats what you pay him for. Overall, very nice person. Yes, he is a hippie, but he is awesome. Gotta love Rod.

Very nice man. But does not make the subject material easy to understand. The exams are hell.

This was one of my favorite classes offered here. If you are a music major or interested in sound engineering, I highly recommend Science of Sound. Dr. Michael was always willing to help and makes the material obtainable to those of us who aren't necessarily fluent in Physics.

Wow...definitely not the class I thought it would be. I hated it, and it was a nite class. He's one big hippie that's for sure. And he should not have a chili pepper by his name! Only take Origins of the Universe if you love science and want to marry it.

This was the hardest class I have ever taken. His lectures did not help with the homework. The tests and quizes are ridiculously hard. He is not that good at conveying the information to the student.

Physics was the hardest class ever with him! He made you do everything yourself. He never really taught you anything. Take the easier physics instead!

The material is difficult but fun at the same time, and Dr. Michael is so excited about it, it's hard not to join in. He's also way more down to earth and laid back then most profs. I definately recommend him.
