He is very sweet and he loves music history! You do need to show up to class and pay attention because that's where the test questions come from. When I took the class the tests were open notes, so that's another reason to show up and take notes. He gives very generous grades on the papers and they are not long or difficult to write.

Comment:

I would not recommend this class for those who have no experience with music. Although this is suppose to be similar to an introduction to music course this instructor teaches as if you have prior knowledge to reading music. No textbook so he is your textbook which is unfortunate. Take this class with anyone else or wait till you transfer.

He's pretty boring, just a lecture the whole time. No class discussions. Lots of videos. Tests are easy, and gives like 3-4 easy papers. about 3 tests, all based on notes taken in class. Doesn't post any on angel, so have to attend. Overall, not my favorite. Easy A. He's pretty weird, and laughs at everything he says. Boring, but you'll pass.

Did not like this class with this teacher. Boring. tried to turn in a paper late on the same day and he just acted annoyed with me and basically told me I was going to fail. Not encouraging. grumpy. made me fall asleep in so many of his classes and I had a hard time even wanting to show up.

super boring. he acted as if we were stupid. It's hard to pay attention to him because he's so boring. The class is easy if you take notes and show up to class. Everything is open note. But he takes forever grading work. Which makes you nervous if he lost your paper or not. My advice is take a different teacher. I regret taking him.

Easy A! Come to class and make sure you take the notes. The exams are a replica of the notes! All exams are open note including the FINAL!! This is an easy A class that is semi interesting. You don't really need the book, I didn't get it and I got an A. You get to watch a lot of movies and music videos as well. Only 4 writing homework assignments.

easy A! 94% in this class would have gotten 100% if i would have bought the textbook but(its recommended) but not needed to pass class. Money saver and gpa booster! really enjoyed this class only 2 exams and a final and concerts you have to attend but you choose which ones to go to. all we did in class was watch videos and listend to music!!

The class is so boring. I found it hard to stay awake and motivated to show up. There are no homework assignments which is nice, but I don't like that we have to attend two campus concerts. With my schedule, this is hard to do. He also is not very responsive to emails. I would recommend this for the easy credit, but not to study music seriously.
