One word: Monotone. His writing is incomprehensible half of the time, but the information is clear. He is a good professor, though the class is dull and the tests hard.

Comment:
Ross is very well versed and lectures are clear and logical. Exams are long, but he throws no curve balls. They are his lecture notes verbatim. I came into the class with no interest and left considering an econ major. He is very friendly and is clearly passionate about the subject matter, even at an introductory level.

Singleton sure knows his stuff, but he knows it so well that it almosts seems as though he is too advanced to be teaching a 170 class. His quizzes are easy enough, but his tests are brutal. Even if you take good notes and study well the chances that you will be 100% prepared are slim.

Professor Singleton is fabulous! He reminded me of my grandpa :) I went to his office hours on occasion, and he was very helpful! The class wasn't very complex, and tests were easy as long as you kept up with the homework and did the reading!

Professor Singleton is great. He definitely knows his stuff. Coming to class is definitely a must because he covers a bunch of information and you need to know all of it for the tests. As long as you take good notes, as in you draw out everything and write down his definitions, you should be able to do well.

Comment:
This isn't an easy class. Exams are some of the longest and most difficult I have ever taken and the homework is rather involving. However, he knows the topic like the back of his hand, applies extremely generous curves to the tests, and drops your lowest test grade, which helped me a lot. He's also understanding and is always willing to help out.

He's a really nice guy and is always willing to help out, although he always seems a little busy. Kind of a scatter brained guy gets off topic easily but always pushes the tests back if we haven't learned everything. This guy really knows his stuff, I feel I learned a lot.

I did not like this class at all. He didn't explain things very well, and seemed to be too distant to reach for help.

Great teacher, his tests are a little harder than you expect and he doesn't always teach everything he expects you to know. He's SUPER ECON MAN so you can't get buy without knowing your theories well. He's the nicest professor I've had and is genuinely interested in each student.

Ross to me was pretty unhelpful because he seems like he's always busy.I mostly learned from the TA. However, if you just study off the notes, the test shouldn't be that bad...

Ross expects that you know the material well, but he gives you ample opportunity to understand. Don't worry too much about reading outside of class--in class lecture will provide you with everything you need to know for tests.
