Excellent professor. Very knowledgeable about the subject. Has lots of passion and patience. She could read my handwriting which is a major feat in itself. I had to do a lot of studying for this class but it pays off. Would certainly choose her as a professor again.

I have taken 3 classes with Dr. Cook, she is by far my favorite professor. She has a good sense of humor and loves math. She is easy to follow in lecture and provides lots of examples. If you go to class every day and do ALL of the homework, you will be fine (as she will tell you, you have to DO MATH to learn MATH).

Comment:

Dr. Cook is the best teacher I've ever had. She's incredibly enthusiastic and, while she cares very much that her students actually learn the material, she doesn't resort to trick questions or ridiculously long exams. Her exams are super reasonable in both difficulty and length, and she grades very fairly. She does teach pretty quickly though.

I have never been one to shirk off the fun of math, but if you enjoy learning mathematics or learn through examples she is not the one to take. She sucks out all the energy in the class with annoyance and word repetition. And try to ask her how to do a problem, she won't give and example she will ask you how to do it. Never,Take,This,Teacher,Ever.

Dr. Cook was a very vibrant speaker and was very clear in her lecture points. She would move fairly quickly through the material, but if it was important, she would leave it on the whiteboard. She had us work through example problems that would cover the material as well. If you missed class, she would let you go to the other one.

Even though I'd struggle to keep up with this class in general. I like her, she was entertaining "loved math" you don't find a lot of professor like that. Welling to help you, must attend class it's worth 25% of your grade. You get worksheets and summaries for the sections, plus she's very nice.

Dr. Cook is the best math teacher I have ever had! I truly mean this considering I've attempted college algebra like 5 times(not kidding)Print out hands outs, she goes over the problems in class. She explains everything clearly. Don't skip class. Buy the book and MyMathLab! She provides a study guide before the test. HINT: STUDY THE STUDY GUIDE!

Dr. Cook was an awesome teacher. I had failed college algebra one time before her class, and she is truly the reason i passed it this time around. She is very involved with her students, and isn't like most boring math teachers who, quite frankly, usually just care about themselves. She grades like your in college, not a mathematician. :)

If math ever needs a cheerleader, it should hire Dr. Cook. She really makes a tedious subject like College Algebra fun, and I really appreciated the fact that we didn't really have too much homework due. A lot of the problems are things that she recommends that you study (which really helps for tests), but if you don't need to, you don't have to.

Dr. Cook works well with everybody. Her tests might be very hard, but she is so detailed and she teaches so well, that it is easy to know what she wants.
