Doc was a great introduction intro to chemistry for me. If you take notes on lectures and try and learn the material then you will do great! Doc obviously loves the subject and will help you.

Doc is not a great teacher. He doesn't care if you pass or fail. So personally I had no chemistry background before taking gen chem & o chem with luaders. Pretty much taught myself by reading the text book and studying class notes. Always got a- and b+. Lots of science students were weeded out during gen chem under this prof.

Doc is awesome. He is a great guy, and always tries to get to know his students. He likes those who work hardest, asks questions, and gets the best grades. Remembered all the questions I got wrong on exams and explained them to me. Class is very hard, though. Be prepared to study your butt off. Has a good amount of past students willing to help.

Comment:
Doc is an excellent teacher. However, be ready to make a lot of study sessions with tutors. He writes very fast in class which makes it very difficult to keep up. He is willing to slow down as long as you ask though. Overall I thougt that he was a very fun teacher.

Attempt to understand the material, you will lose the battle if you try to memorize before tests! Go to his older students for help, not him.

Dr. Luaders was really nice, and he does a decent job of teaching the subject. The study guide really helped, and he was entertaining. If you already have a basic knowledge of Chemistry, you will excel in his course.

Seriously the worst professor I have ever had. If you struggle with a topic, don't even bother going to him for help. Get a study buddy. He just doesn't get why you don't understand. He also won't support independent research projects, which can make or break grad school acceptance. Go to another school if you want to be a chemist.

Luaders is not a good teacher in the classical sense, but he does keep you on track and makes you learn the things you need to know, especially in the lower level chem classes. He's pretty bad at upper level chem courses (e.g. p-chem), though, probably because HE doesn't understand what's going on. QU really needs to hire another chem prof.

He is very unclear in class. He goes way too fast and does not give people a chance to catch up on notes in lecture. Even if you go to his office hours to ask for help he acts like you are wasting his time and tries to get you out very fast. He is a nice guy just a poor teacher and advisor.

He does go a bit fast. However, I went to every class, worked all of the assigned homework problems and I did very well as a result.

Don't take this class unless you want to spend your semester in the library. This guy is outrageous in his expectations. Fast and Unclear, don't ask questions because you are wasting his time. He is a robot, not a teacher.

Does not care if you do well or not. He can't explain anything in a different way. So, if you don't understand something you are screwed.
