Comment:

This class is not an easy A, and there is a substantial amount of work and studying. However, I really liked Dr. Fisicaro's method of teaching. The lab was helpful. I would utilize the TAs office hours and SI. Also, memorize and understand the slides so that you can do well on the exams. Just put in the effort and you can get an A.

Dont take him! he goes over material fast, and if you ask a question he makes you feel stupid. Dont buy the book, all you need are appendixes in the back. 13 homework assignmnts. Lab doesnt help. You basically have to teach yourself and pray for a curve. Good luck!

Comment:

One of the most difficult classes I have taken (Stats), but not sure how much was due to teaching vs. the nature of the material. He does go fast, and becomes impatient at times, but I can't deny that he knows his stuff. Challenging, but with the lab it is manageable with effort.

I had to retake stats & this professor was MUCH clearer than the professor I had before. When students couldn't log in to SPSS when it was down, he was very reasonable. Reading book makes class a bit more confusing, but you need it for the appendices in the back. Gives hand outs in class to make material clearer. A nice man. Good examples.

Very knowledgeable about the material. Does go through slides fast, but he posts them well before the class so it helps a lot to read them before class and just review/skim through during lecture. I never used the book for anything but the appendixes. EXAMS ARE EXACTLY LIKE HIS SLIDES, MEMORIZE THE SLIDES! Lab is an easy A, so just do the work = A!

This was the hardest class I ever had in my life. I would find another teacher. His exams are very difficult. I spent endless hours trying to pass this class. Good Luck...

This stats class was the hardest class I ever had. His test were very difficult. Unless you have had stats prior to this class...run for the hills...or get another instructor. I spent so much time trying to pass his class I almost failed my other ones. He know his stuff, however, he goes throught the slides so fast, and he does not post them.

He definately knows his stuff. At times it can be difficult to take notes. May be a tough prof for an undergrad, but a great prof for a graduate. Overall, I enjoyed him as a prof.

It's easy to tell that Dr. Fisicaro knows a lot about stats, and that he's witty. But is he a good prof? He uses a 180 dollar textbook, he goes over the notes so fast that you can't jot them all down (and then refuses to put them on blackboard), and his lectures just aren't that informative. At least lecture (but not lab!) attendance is optional.

This guy is the cutest guy. I dont know why everyone is complaining about him, his tests arent that bad and he does know how to teach. He does know his stuff. But i agree with most of you guys here, he is monotone. Its pretty funny. He puts your exams in a bag to disperse out. Thats pretty funny. Other than that, cool guy. Very nice.

He is absolutely boring!!! Next he is hard to follow. I will admit that he does try and doesn't mind explaining things but its hard to pay attention with the instructor has a monotone voice and the material is very complex.

Horrible teacher! Does not use any type of notes or powerpoint. Lectures straight from his brain. Expects you to write down everything he says in class and MAYBE it'll be on the test, yet he doesnt slow down talking for you to write anything down! Test are extremely hard. HW in lab was never explained how to actually do. Expect u to know that too!

The worst teacher! Lectures are boring and tests are ridiculous! It is correct that they are all theory and almost no calculations and a lot of the times its worded in a confusing manner! AVOID at all costs and take a teacher who understands stats isn't fun but tries to make it enjoyable!

Stats class, right? Yeah, there were almost NO calculations on exams, they were all theoretical questions, and very tricky. Most of the test questions are from lecture, so go to class, but I'd suggest bringing something else to do. He explains everything 20 different ways, which get very boring. If you can, get Cort as a TA, he will help a ton.

Teacher is a horrible lecturer. Most of his test questions come from his lectures so attend class. Go to lab Cort Rudolph is great TA and will help a lot. Overall the class wasn't that bad.

Lectures are awful, i had a good t.a for lab and that is the only way i got a B. The lecture is un-real. No notes, no writting on the bored, and its a stats class. He is sooo bad. AVOID HIM AT ALL COST. He might be a nice guy but that class BLOWS

Fisicaro was a great teacher up until he broke his arm and Cort Rudolph took over, NEVER take a lab with him he is the most **** TA there is. He is very rude and iggnorant! Don't recommend him for lab to anyone!!
