Dr. Harvey is a real gem at YHC. You can tell by his classes that he truly cares about the subject matter and of his students' success. He is very detailed in his grading and you learn so much from his feedback. He also inspires his students to excel--a trait other professors at YHC can learn from.

Harvey is by far the best english teacher at YHC. His points system doesnt leave much room for messups and his annotations take some time but he is WONDERFUL. I learned so much history and the readings were very interesting. And you will want him as your grandpa... hes great!

If you have one ENGL prof to take, make sure it's Harvey! He is an asset to Young Harris, and he will make your life so much better. The texts he chooses are amazing, and he is very helpful and friendly in person. I love him!

one of the best teachers at YHC along with stearns. 3 Tests, 1 paper, and about 20 or so annotations. Grades very hard on tests and paper, but annotations are a breeze. Clearly pushes students to expand knowledge and reach full potential. Very open to personal views and interpretation on the literature discussed.

Very hard, but rightly so- he's a college professor and expects you to read and write as a college student. Absolutely LOVES when a student has his/her own way of thinking and opinions. As long as you aren't illiterate and don't expect him to "give you a break" when your writing is that of a 4th grader, he's awesome. Very helpful as well.

I had Dr. Harvey 6 or 7 years ago (memory starts to fade when age sets in) and he is THE BEST professor in history! I absolutely loved him and from the moment I graduates YHC, not one professor has ever held a candle to him. He's extremely passionate, helpful and has the most incredibly sexy voice I've ever heard. I could listen to him forever! This was the best class I've ever taken...more than highly recommended!!!

He is very soft spoken. He is nice and you will do well to read all your assignments so that you may participate in class discussions. He loves the whole theory of not looking at the clock to see how much time we have left in class. He could seriously put anyone to sleep. Overall a pretty eay class though.

An awesome free thinker- I felt from day one that he was a great man & truly visionary. Sometimes he causes me to second-guess myself and read too deep into things in that happen in class, but that's my fault..... He's wonderful!

Harvey was my advisor and professor, and he knew what he was talking about in all aspects of the school. I strongly suggest him to anyone looking for a challenge or just an interesting class. He, for sure, keeps you listening because it takes so much effort just to hear him. He plays the banjo for you sometimes!!

I absolutely hated Dr. Harvey's class. He is extremely close-minded and discourages individuality in thought. He has 1 idea of "good writing style" and grades you based on it. His class could be helpful for students who are not oriented in English and need a teacher to tell them what to write as well as how to write it.

This man can talk about goats and make it sound like poetry. His words flow and everthing he says comes out like he speaking about falling in love. Maybe that is why all the girls drool over him. Some guys can dance, some guys have the looks, but this guy has something else... Good teacher too.
