Horrible professor. He did all the homework questions and they are made to make you lose points. Be warned, he writes the homework questions for ALL sections of Chem 121, 122, and 123.

very good prof :). obviously knows his material since he wrote the book and is head of chem dept. but explains it well. tests can be a little tough, just bc the time constraint.

Great Professor. I wish my 121 teacher was as good as this guy. I would have done MUCH better... He hasn't explained a concept I don't understand yet.

Great professor, cool guy. He doesn't use power point, instead, he works out practice problems on the board. He is very aware of student understanding, and adjusts lecture pace to the needs of the class.

Let's just say I was less than impressed by Gammon. I didn't understand him most of the time. I missed one class, went to the tutoring center three times a week and managed a C/C+. I got a B in Hurlbut's class and if any of you had him you probably thought he sucked. Gammon is nice but scatterbrained.

AWESOME! He is the best prof I have had at Western, hands down. His classes are very interactive. He always asks questions to see if the class understands, and if not, he will take more time on that topic. He uses great examples and ties things into real life applications. Always very helpful in office hours. Exams are straight forward and fair.

Chemistry does not come easy to me at all...I did not have chem121 with gammon but he filled in for my professor for a couple days and I actually understood and learned more than I did with my professor for the class. Gammon definitely makes it easier for people to actually LEARN! If you get a chance, take it with him!!!

Outstanding professor. The pace of the lectures is sort of dictated by the class so if most people don't understand a concept he will make sure you do. Tests are very fair and so is his grading. If you have an opportunity to take him I highly recommend you do it.

perfect example of how to teach, makes everything clear with great examples, I barely had to read the book as long as I showed up to class every day. makes a harder class easy.

As hard as I find chemistry, he made everything so easy to understand. The tests are fair, still require studying, but he is such a good teacher that they are not too bad.

Ok.... i took Chem 121 from a different professor who didn't make much sense. Gammon covered for my professor one day and i learned more that day than i learned each week from my regular professor.

Awesome teacher! Fairly easy class, especially if you have some sort of chemistry background. I went to class everyday and didn't really use the book, but it is good for practice problems. Tests are moderate hardness. I would highly reccomend him!

He explains well and the class is fairly easy esp. if you've had chemistry before. I would say go to class b/c he explains a lot. Tests are mulitple choice with a couple written answers, and the final is all multiple choice.

This was a different style of class that was team taught by Professors Gammon and Nelson. Their personalities fit perfectly with the course. They were always very helpful. Class expectations were very clear from the beginning which made the class very enjoyable.

He was a fantastic teacher. I really enjoyed his class and he makes you think. If you go to class and keep up, you should have no problem. Doesn't make you memorize much of anything which is nice.
