Ugh! Must be better in person based on reviews, but i took him online due to COVID. Moves REALLY fast, doesn't explain well, super dry, and not helpful in answering questions .He talks to students like we should already understand chemistry and grades hard. I basically self-taught this with the textbook and YouTube. Super stressful.

Mr. Miles is one crazy smart guy. Come to class prepared and be on time or you will miss things. Be prepared to work for that A or even a B as he is a meticulous grader, but if you listen to what he tells you to correct getting 100 is easy. He's really funny, but it takes him time to warm up. Would definitely take again.

His lectures are very clear and he posts the notes on canvas for each lecture and the test answers after the test grades were posted. For 110, attendance isn't technically mandatory, but those who didn't go did very poorly on the tests. Also, the access code for the homework is very expensive, but you need it to do well on the tests.

Prof Miles is a good professor, his lectures are straightforward & go over the kinds of problems you can expect to see on the homework. His tests are hard & have some cumulative problems. I put in a lot of effort and studying but the cumulative problems were my downfall in the class. Make use of his office hours if you struggle with chemistry.

Professor Miles, is a great teacher. I took him for winter semester and it was tough. There was homework and a lot of studying to do. He is very clear on what he wants and what to expect on his exams. He has notes for you to print out on canvas and gives you quizzes with similar questions that you will see on the exam. I def. recommend him.

Prof Miles is top notch! Honestly one of the best professors in the STEM department by far! You must do all the work in order to pass no skipping assignments especially if math is not your strong point. He pays attention to detail but he is VERY clear in what he needs from you Just talk to him and he will be super helpful. You will work for that A

Chem 110 was the holdout for my Kinesiology transfer, and I'm glad I took it w/Prof. Miles. He has clear expectations, is approachable, and clearly loves chemistry. Lecture was super dry, but lab was where chem really came alive for me. Go to office hours, follow lab report instructions to the letter, and study your lecture notes for tests.

Professor Miles was an amazing chemistry professor!! He's an amazing lecturer, but you definitely have to go to class in order to fully understand the material. He doesn't use PowerPoints but have his own typed up documents that outlines the entire chapter which are really helpful. I studied hard and got an A!

Professor miles is a very intelligent instructor who lets know what to expect. His lectures are very easy to follow and will answer any questions you have. The exams are challenging but the optional homework and the problems sets will get you prepared. Overall a very great instructor who knows what hes talking about. Highly recommend his classes.

Very organized. You need to do lots of problems, and take notes during the lecture. The exams are tough, but he curves the first one. If you do the problem sets, and the problems he assigns for further practice you'll earn A.

I genuinely believe he's passionate about Chemistry, obviously he became a professor. However, I believe his teaching techniques could be modified. It just felt distant. Then again it was a 7:35 a.m. Lab & lecture. There's hw with strict due dates, lots of lab reports & working with chemnet as well. Not an easy A, you must earn it.

First of all, he is very attractive! Moving on, this was probably the hardest class I've taken! I took it during summer, so it was fast paced. If you are a slow learner or not motivated, then do not take! He looks at EVERYTHING you write so be specific and accurate! Overall, he is very nice, knowledgeable, and a great professor. Got a low B.

Dr. Miles does a great job of explaining a complicated subject. The class is highly conceptual with a great deal of math and equations. Be ready for long nights and long lab reports.

Professor Miles is one of the best chemistry instructors in Citrus College. He is super organized, returns quizzes and exam the next session after taking them. Gives good feed backs on reports and exams. Homeworks are optional, but questions in exam are similar to the hw questions.

Took the class in Winter. Tough if you're not good in math but doable. Know your CONVERSIONS, POLYATOMIC IONS, & make the PERIODIC TABLE your BFF! Take your time doing the pre-labs, homework, labs, tests, & quizzes. Study really hard! Labs are fun! Miles explains everything in detail yet some things he expects you to already know. GOOD LUCK!

He's tough. Lots of coursework and a strict timeline to finish it. The theory is dense and requires intense attention to detail. Make sure you have enough time to dedicate to this class before registering, you will spend most of the semester studying for his tests. That being said, this professor prepares you for university level coursework.

You cannot blame him or your failure in his class. Yes, this class was difficult (primarily because this was my very first time learning about Chemestry), but if the student puts all the effort you will pass! I spent hours and days practicing examples and reading and managed pass the class. He doesn't grade tough and gives credit for trying!

Never have taken chemistry before this class. This dude teaches in an easy to understand type of way, easy to understand if you can stay awake in class that is. He's VERY monotone. Tests are straight forward, no surprises. He's not the best professor ever, but he's far from the worst.
