Comment:

Great class if you're into history/film/culture. Lot of work but its enjoyable. You'll mostly be writing a lot of short essays and peer doing responses. But there's a LOT of opportunities for extra credit, so don't worry about passing. As long as you give a decent effort, you'll be fine. Grades exams on curve too. Professor Villeneuve is very cool.

Comment:

Professor Villeneuve is a great professor. She DOES care but if you try to pull one over on her, don't expect that to go well. I respect her and she really helped me watch and see movies for more than just entertainment. Her lectures are funny and filled with examples, and they are all you need to study for the exams. Take her! She's great!

This professor is very rude in the beginning she seems like a very good professor but let me say she is not. She doesnt care about her students. She grades you very low even if you do all your work. She made several mistakes when grading my work and I had to let her know. Very unorganized.i dont recommend anyone to take this class.

Super sweet lady! You watch a moviw every week and take a quiz with a discussion board. The quizes are short and you can take them as many times as you want. She curves both exams and gives extra credit. She has study guides for both exams too.

Comment:

Prof Villeneuve's class was average difficulty. Every week there is a 3-6 question quiz and a discussion where you answer a question and respond twice for points. There are weekly films but you don't necessarily need to watch them to get an A. Easy work but don't forget to do it because missing just one week can tank your grade.

She's funny and incorporates humor into the class, which makes it more interesting. The online class is fairly easy and consists of weekly discussion boards and short quizzes that have unlimited attempts. She's an easy grader and the class isn't super assignment heavy. Only complaint is that some of the movies were obscure and hard to find.

Chapters are 50+ pages, and her lectures arent really about the material covered in the book. However her study guides are mostly based off on the book with a little bit of her lectures. This class was pretty easy, and she curves all the exams. The quiz questions are all on the exams and this class is mot cumulative. Easy class

I took ART 199 during the last 8 weeks of the spring semester. Each week consists of discussion posts and quizzes. The quizzes are based off her PowerPoints and some of the questions from the quizzes are used in her midterm and final exam. I didn't order the book that was needed for the class and did just fine.

I disagree with the person below. Everything in the online course is in modules, so if you don't work off the modules you might think things don't go together but they do. Her lectures are based off the book, so you don't really need it if you pay attention to the lectures. The lectures also have funny anecdotes and illustrations with film clips

Villenueve is all of the place. You have to figure out the chapter as you go. The slide shows have the answers to the quizzes. I was so excited to take this class but she doesnt really talk about the things in each chapter. She rambles off...

This is my second time taking a class with Villeneuve and I'm already registered to take COMM 136 with her next sem! She's entertaining and passionate about what she teaches. This class is graded by discussions, replies, a writing assignment, and a quiz every week. I really enjoyed it!

Super chill, pretty funny too, she really does care about her students and really wants to help you succeed. Always there to help. Just make sure you do all the homework (which is like one discussion, and some weeks don't even have any) and you'll easily get an A.

She was probably one of the most interesting professors I've had at Citrus. She's very funny and laid back. She has a ton of experience in her field so you know she knows what she's talking about. She cares about you and your grade as long as you care. This class wasn't a cake walk, the tests are actually pretty hard but just study, i.e. flashcards

This definitely is not an "easy A random art class". You have to actually pay attention to the notes and lectures she posts (since it's an online class) if you want to do well. Answers aren't online so you actually have to understand what you're learning and study. She is a great teacher though and I have a lot of respect for her!

Most of the points your accumulate are attendance quizzes on line. The only way you can take these quizzes is if you have a password. Unless you have a super nice friend that gives you all the passwords, then you need to show up to class to know what the passwords are. One paper is due around midterms. Open book tests. Good Films.

She's super chill, but don't take advantage of that. Takes attendance off of in class assignments. Tests are actually pretty easy as long as you actually read the chapters! Don't get the e-book, you want the real thing. The tests are timed but most are open book! Get ready to laugh, she makes media HILARIOUS!

Comment:

I took this pass simply to get my general ed art credit, and boy it was tough. Maybe it is just me, but it was pretty a difficult subject at times. Prof V is a very tough grader. I wouldnt recommend just to take if you need credits because it requires a lot lf work. On the bright side she will boost your grade with extra credit opportunities!
