Comment:

Tina was by far my favorite professor I've ever had. It was a privilege to have her class. She was incredibly caring and helpful. We had completely opposite views, which mad for and interesting time, and a learning experience as well. Sadly, Tina passed away in May of 2016. She may be gone, but will never be forgotten.

Comment:

Tina is a wonderful professor! She adds in humor to her lectures and always tries to help you with whatever you need. Make sure to take notes in class though, because nothing will ever be posted online. Before tests she gives study guides that are EXTREMELY helpful, however tests are the only grades in the class. There are some extra credit chances

Comment:

Very easy class. her study guides are almost identical to the tests. She does give reading assignments that are not always easy to complete, but the grades do not weigh heavily. The hardest aspect of the class was a single group project she assigned.

Tina Yarborough is a wonderful teacher and person. Loves to hear your opinions, but definitely has her own firmly in place. She will work with you and cares more about you actually learning than meeting deadlines or stressing. She is always there for a student inside and outside of class. What a great professor! TAKE HER.

If you know everything on the study guide you will get A's on the test. It's a fun, interesting class and she makes it even better. You don't want to disagree with her or all eyes are on you as she tries to prove you wrong.

She is hilarious and her class is very entertaining despite the lectures. There are only a couple of assignments, a group presentation, a midterm, and a final. It is an easy A if you complete assignments and know the study guides for the midterm and final. It's pretty straightforward, but definitely gets you thinking.

She's very opinionated, and if you disagree with her you might get a lower grade. That being said, she's a very nice lady who has a dedication to teaching. Sometimes the class gets off-topic discussing something and it's really fun! Assignments are all pretty easy and you'll learn a lot. If you like art or history this class is for you.

Very nice lady. The class was very interesting. I learned a lot of things about America that I never knew. The class explored the minority groups in America and how they were treated by whites. There were a couple of papers, but were easy. One group project. EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE THE CLASS FROM HER!

I love her! Yes she is very opinionated but she is also respecftul about others opinions! Her tests are exactly like her study guides. Class is fun because it's always more of open discussion than lecture. She jokes a lot and is young at heart. If you take her I guarantee you'll learn so much!

This lady is CRAZY! In a good way. She is very entertaining and often laughs at herself. She sometimes gets off topic and her tangents are hilarious. Not a lot of work involved in the class, but she still managed to open my eyes to the world around me. I've heard some horror stories about ADCH, so take her if you get the chance!

Took for Maymester '10: Do the work, get an A. Pretty straight forward stuff and most of it you've probably learned in high school or even middle school. She is opinated but will respect yours if you have facts to support it. There was a group project (easy) Midterm I made a 98 and studied for about 30 min. She gave study guides and powerpts out.

Absolutely wonderful professor! Makes the class interesting for everyone. Pay attention on class and you'll be fine. Flash cards are the way to go. Goes pretty fast, but tells you all the details you need to know. Genuinely wants to help you in any way she can. Definitely the class to take.

If you have the same beliefs as she does you'll make her day. However, don't expect her to respectfully disagree with differing opinions. If you prove her wrong about something she'll ignore the facts in favor of her comfort zone. Extremely defensive about her beliefs. Occaisonally asks inappropriate, sometimes humiliating questions to students.

She is very open about her personal views and discounts and attacks the opinions that aren't coherent with her's. She is a stickler about attendance. For every single day missed she takes off participation points. I made a good grade in her class and learned lots, but I don't know if dealing with her was really worth it.

Comment:

Took IDST 2315 over Maymester. Had to do some pretty intense reading (100-200 pages per night) but it wasn't impossible. Essays and exams were easy and the group project consisted of making a PowerPoint and talking about your topic for an hour. Class often turned from lecture into open discussion. Really enjoyed the class.

Dr. Yarborough is a fun teacher who really enjoys her students. Just go to class everyday and pay attention (her class it actually quite interesting) and you will most certainly receive an A. She is a bit crazy.

Tina is the greatest teacher I have ever had...probably the greatest I ever will have. In 2 years, I've taken 6 of her classes. She loves teaching and her students. If you take her class, you'll leave learning a lot about yourself without knowing it at first. You'll WANT to go to class...she'll crack you up once you catch on to her humor.

Tina is great. I had her for Art History and it was a breeze. She goes over and over the material in class. She's really funny and gets really excited during her lectures. Her test are not hard but you do have to study. If you ever need anything, just go to her and say it, but don't beat around the bush and most likely she will help you out.
