Comment:
Professor Warren is a really nice person, but her teaching style and over all methods are absolutely horrible. The lecture is so bland and repetitive yet you are somehow still able to leave the class having learned nothing. There isnt much HW but essays and "midterms" are confusing and directions are extremely vague. Avoid if you can.

I was excited to take this class because the subject matter seemed very interesting, but unfortunately I was disappointed. Her lectures were very unclear dry. She also handed out over twenty five packets that made no sense. Her essay prompts are over five pages long and its hard to pinpoint the criteria she is looking for. Do NOT take this class

Lectures felt pointless at times. provides detailed study guide before tests. expects a lot of outside reading, but no one actually does it. really nice sweet lady with a lot of enthusiasm and the topics can be interesting, but overall the class was boring and not challenging.

She's a little disorganized and gives out a lot of paper handouts but seriously i remember everything she said in class. She relates everything we learn to the real world. She's super passionate about what she teaches and her expectations for papers and tests are extremely clear. I've taken 2 of her classes and hope to take more! Great professor

She does get clustered a lot there is NO doubt, but she is a sweetheart and she knows her material. She explains things pretty well and you don't have to worry about tests (just essays) which isn't too bad. and she explains things in very detail and gives examples that are relevant to today's problems

For the love of god, beware. Worst professor I've ever had. An excessive number of handouts. Unclear about expectations and you need a photographic memory to do well on any exam. The woman is a nervous wreck, and it's downright distracting during lectures. She misunderstands a significant amount of the material herself. Ridiculously scatter-brained

If your GPA's suffered after this class, it's likely not your fault. She's tough to follow in lecture, class outlines, expectations. When teaching, one has this glimpse of her attempting to resolve the random eye-rolling conflicts that she imposed. You're not unintelligent. She's simply not the most developed professor, charming as she may be.

Have had this class for the last several months. Really would not recommend. Letters are not clear and as others have said, very scattered. I have probably 50 pages worth of hand-outs that she spends the entires class going over the first page of the packet and expects you to do the rest. Unclear expectations on exams.

While the classes are easy, she is terrible. Every lecture is a jumble of different topics, often she crams in a 30 minute topic into the last 5 min of class. I've been in the class for 3 months and I have the equivalent of a rain forest worth of trees in handouts, most of which you can't read. She switches colors, fonts, etc, do not take her!

She's definitely sweet & kind, on top of her sizable subject knowledge. However, it's very hard to follow her 'scattered' lectures, where it seems less a lecture and more of her chatting with herself; many are lost after 10-15 mins. in., only to get graded down for "not reading". Grades are on 2 exams and a FEW assignments!! Wouldn't take again.

Caution!! The class covers interesting topics, but her lectures are boring and never to the point. It is hard to get a good grade in her class because there are only two in-class essay midterms and a very long term paper. And she is not clear about what she wants on them.

She is a little scatterbrained but she provides a space for great discussions. Not much homework, the reading isn't really necessary, but participating is mandatory. Her tests are incredibly long essays in which you have to incorporate readings and your opinions. You will do okay as long as you do the incredibly long (but helpful) study guides.

Lovely person but her syllabus and essays instructions are so long it's kind of overwhelming. However, the plus side to that is she basically tells you everything she wants to see in your essays. You don't need to read the textbooks to do well in her class. She also gives a lot of extra credit opportunities.

Medical Ethics: One of my favorite professors at chapman. Incredibly caring and passionate about the subject. Teaches effectively and encourages discussion in class. She presents material in an neutral fashion and genuinely wants to hear the opinions students have. Tests are essay based (as with the rest of the philosophy department).

She is so confusing, so harsh with grading, you need to know EXACTLY what she wants on tests in order to do well. By that I mean HER stance, HER beliefs. Not openminded at all. Does not teach topics properly, instead she talks about her personal life and INTERRUPTS students CONSTANTLY. So rude.

Stay Away! She is a very nice lady, but incredibly scatterbrained and all over the place. A prompt for a paper of her was several pages long! I had a good grade in her class and when I got my final grade I was very confused. I e-mailed her, but she never responded.

She is not an easy teacher but is clearly very knowledgeable about the subject. The other reviews are accurate. I found it most helpful to go to her office hours and run through all my outlines etc with her and I ended up with an A in the course so it can be done it just isn't easy at all.

GREAT PROFESSOR! She knows what she's talking about and she has such a passion for teaching and for philosophy! She really goes out of her way to get her students to think, which can be an annoying thing for some kids. Definitely recommend!
