Your final is a project that it upwards of 12 pages, plus creating an entire ad campaign and a final exam. In my opinion, it's too much. Also, when he assigns links with homework he tracks whether or not you click on them and will take off points if you don't look at all of them. But, he is one of the kindest professors ever.

He was a very nice professor and he was enjoyable in class. But if you don't like doing arts and crafts along with short writing assignments, he's not the guy for you. For grades, you start with 0 and work your way up. You have the option to stop participating when you have the points you want. I would recommend him.

hes really cool, very understanding, and easy to talk to. assignments are very clear cut and he give good, quick feedback. if you do not like to talk in front of class, a lot of class discussions (relaxed), etc then i do not reccommend it:)

One of the most understanding professors I've had. He tries very hard to make class engaging, but know that if you don't participate in discussions then you don't get points for the day. You do need to read for the discussions, but the reading isn't difficult. Great guy, I highly recommend taking his class.

I absolutely loved Dr. Purcell and his class setup. He knew we as a class were struggling and could sense when we were stressed so he gave us easy ways to boost our grades and lessen our stress. The class setup allows for you to be absent when necessary and it won't kill your grade.

He says he doesn't take attendance but penalizes you (takes off points from your grade) when you are absent. He doesn't allow excused absences, and even if you have a note from a doctor he takes points off. Waits until the end of the semester to give assignments that are worth most of the points for the class.

He is an extremely harsh grader if you are not on his good side. Very condensing in class as well. However he does cancel class often.

Overall nice guy, but the class was poorly structured. His ASUlearn site was confusing and unhelpful. he put things on the exams that we did not over in class or in homework. Also this isn't necessarily his fault, but a warning: his Interviewing Methods is a terrible class to take if you have social anxiety.

He was condescending and took the class way too seriously. I put more time into his class than I did in Chemistry. Way not worth your time. Take ANY other UCO. He hated me because I challenged his asinine class structure and ideas. Expect to do a ton of busy work and "earn" participation by being at every class. If you skip he hates you.

I found myself doing more work for this class than my major courses... He gives out bonus points, but very inconsistently and with a system no one understands but him. I feel like he really wants what is best for you, but doesn't know how to say it nicely. Decent guy, just be prepared to spend a lot of time on your speeches and folders for them.

I had him for Freshman Seminar and he is one of the nicest professors I have ever had. He is always willing to help students out and motivate them to succeed! While attendance was required and there was a lot of busy work, I would still take him again.

Very knowledgeable and always available during office hours. However, he tends to be very objective about things. If he doesn't like your idea, he will tell you it sucks point blank and expect you to change it without any explanation. Was given multiple grades and I had to pester him to get even a small hint of what I could've improved on.

He's very unclear about what he wants. He does make class fun and tried to get you out of your comfort zone. I enjoyed the material and concepts but his class was so stressful because he assigns so many projects and papers that pile up.

Mr. Purcell is a great professor who truly cares about his students. He made an uncomfortable class like public speaking really fun. He really creates a positive classroom environment and the whole class became friends. Lots of good real world experience in his class too.

Public Speaking was my favorite class. The class isn't hard you just have to be prepared, none of the speeches were super complicated and he clearly explained them all. The way that he structured the class was amazing, he really just wanted us to get comfortable speaking to people. My class became like the breakfast club, it was a fantastic class.

This was my favorite class I have taken at app. I love how the class is set up. It is very interactive and also very fun. I really looked forward to going to this class. It isn't a hard class as long as you do your work. I really don't understand how people could of gave him a bad rating.

His arguments are invalid and I believe that he argues with his students just to get a rise out of them. He really makes you think, but sometimes not about the most positive subjects. If I were to go back, I would not have chosen his class.

Class is relatively easy, yet extremely stressful. He emails constantly, you always feel like you're missing something, and his AsULearn site is very confusing. He is very unclear about his expectations and the point system grading scale is more confusing than it needs to be. The class is fun, but there is a lot of busy work too.

I think it is ignorant to assert that someone is slacking simply because there was lack of clarity and organization. The class was cool but it would have done more people better if things were explained and not over complicated. Everyone wanted to do well but there was not a lot of guideline to how. Ignore the snob. Everyone faces challenges.
