I really liked Professor Sigler. Very honest and informative, and not afraid to tackle sensitive subjects. Open discussion format was great in class!

This class was called survey of alabama prisons. The class was very interesting, it is generally only offered in May, but you tour aroun 10 prisons talk with inmates. The class was very easy three 3-4 page papers were the only grades. You have to go to the class.

Great professor. Every CJ student should be required to take at least one class from him. Do your work. Visit him in his office. Ask for help and do your part and you will succeed.

Avoid him at all costs. I ended up making hundreds (literally) of flash cards in his class with the vocabulary words on them for the tests. The two tests (midterm and final) are fill in the blank and every vocab word from the chapters (that have NOTHING to do with class) are fair game. So if you have him---start memorizing vocab in the VERY beginni

Yes, he mumbles and is hard to understand sometimes. No, he can't hear. The upside is that he usually acknowledges that on the first day. Also, his classes do emphasize writing... A LOT; however, he also notes that you can read most of the CJ stuff in a book... you have to learn how to develop skills in order to succeed.

I did not have Dr. Sigler as an undergrad. In graduate school, I thought he was awesome! He's probably the most approachable and honest professor in the department. His style is very different, but from what I have been told by fellow grad students that had him in undergrad, he prepared them well for grad school and future jobs.

So you only have three grades in the class- two tests and one paper. Im pretty sure I busted my ass for the paper for no reason. And the tests, 20 questions...fill in the blank....ridiculous!!!

Why is this guy still teaching? He's a joke. He can't (wont?) hear a word you're saying, mumbles, mumbles, mumbles, and LOVES talk about how great he is. He plays favorites - beware of getting on his wrong side. The whole class is a waste of time. I didn't learn anything useful.

After having him once, I developed a method for his classes: I never attended unless there was a test, read the textbook from cover to cover, memorized every italicized word available and aced his class three times. I think it pissed him off that I never came to class. Did anyone mention the mumbling?

Sigler is a strange bird. He is difficlt to understand (mumbles). You have to listen hard, and at times, you'll need a decoder ring to figure out what the hell he is saying.

Best professor I've ever had. Understanding. Considerate. Challenging. Demanding. He draws out the best in you if you want to be your best. The man will do just about anything for you if you are willing to do your part.

He's ok...if you are his good side...he talks into his beard and mumbles and you have to listen REALLY hard to understand what he is saying.
