Very clear on what he wants. Has outline for every test. If you pay attention its easy to get a good grade. He expects college level, not highschool. He can be mean to students at times but hey its not highschool any more. Pay attention in class and write dow all notes, he doesn't have any suprises on the test.

Smithson knew what he was talking about, but his tests and grading rubric were TERRIBLE!!!!! He wasn't much help if you needed it. It is extremely hard to please him when it comes to the 5 page long essay portion of each of his tests. If its under 4 or 5 pages, it's not enough information

Not a great professor for a History major. Thinks he knows it all, but does not. Very condescending to students. A insult to the historical profession...and he is the department head. Crowder is a great school, but they need to review their professors.

I took Smithson years ago my first semester. I hated History until this class. This man lives and breathes history. He made the class interesting and enjoyable. It was my favorite class!
