He was extremely rude to me in his emails. He would not give clear instructions when giving assignments. He is a very harsh grader. Somehow couldnt tell my essay was already double spaced and marked me off for it even though I told him it was. He procrastinated in grading until the last minute and removed assignments he didnt feel like grading.

Horrible teacher, I mean horrible. He takes forever to grade essays ( 2 months I waited). He procrastinates too much and goes off-topic to talk about this personal life that has nothing to do with the lecture and confuses me when he does that. If you're reading this and have to take ENC1101 & ENC1102, I'm doing you a favor, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!

Prof. Beck is a really nice guy. He gives a lot of examples in class and relies a lot on group work to examine previous student essays. Very easy on grading, gives good feedback, and is very understanding as long as you speak to him or send an email. He says the book is required but I didn't have one and still passed.

This teacher sticks to his curriculum and does not deviate, but in the end you will understand what he is trying to teach. He may be difficult at first, but eventually, you will learn successfully. He makes you apply yourself a lot more than you usually would.

He is very blunt and comes off very rude and discouraging. I've been graded for a handful of assignments and the semester is almost over. He is very brief about what you are doing wrong and just refers to his "examples" and isn't very helpful at all. I suggest not taking his class of all, you won't benefit from it at all.

What a big disappointment. This class has been one of the biggest disappointing experiences I have ever taken. He comes to class late often, his lectures are very hard to follow because he talks too much, so I often got lost in my assignments. He would often give us assignments with giving bland instructions on what to do. Do not take this class.

At first i was about to drop the class, very organized, very vague, very unclear of anything/everything. I ended up staying and actually started to enjoy the class. Although he continued to be the same disorganized prof, it seemed like he really cared. He goes the extra mile to make long, specific comments on papers to ensure you improve from then.

He's so confusing it depresses me. He makes it harder than it has to be. You can pass but he is one of those teachers that put unnecessary burden by being unorganized, and petty. Please don't take his class. The schedule benefits is not worth it. He doesn't care about you and by the comments he has no interest in changing for future students.

Not a bad teacher at all. I was a bit worried due to his reviews but he isn't a very hard teacher. Just make sure you TRY. That is all. He is willing to work with you. He isn't some strict uptight dude. He's a really good teacher who just gives you a fair amount of work. No reason to give him a rating under 5. Especially if he is willing to help.

this is probably the worst professor ive ever had in college. he grades super harsh on essays & he makes sure to leave you a whole page essay on why your OWN essay is wrong! he literally gave me a bad grade because he didnt agree with the topic i was writing on! also, he takes forever to give papers back and put grades in...

He's indirect about assignment criteria, when things are due, and how they relate to what we are doing in class. Comp should not be this vague, difficult, and disorganized. He is a tough grader make sure you have everything typed and stapled to turn in at the beginning of class because he will not accept it. Every single class there is at least two to three papers due! The book is somewhat needed he does go over some stories at random threw the semester. MUST GO TO CLASS! Get ready to start writing LOTS of papers!
