Geiss is the G.O.A.T. You can't get much better than a funny professor who loves his job. If you do the work, you will get the grade you deserve. He is fair and allows a cheat sheet for exams. Would recommend him to anyone.

Look, if you're not interested in ENVS, don't try and get away with taking his course to fulfill a requirement. He loves to teach and is very funny but if you're not committed to the subject, you're gonna hate him and the course. Tough grader but once you get what he's looking for you will have no problems. I loved this course 9/10 would recommend

He's pretty insensitive and a jerk. Would go into things much deeper but basically he does not care about his students what so ever. Won't be taking a class in the ENVS department again due to him.

At first he seemed very interesting/funny, my opinion soon changed. I'd go to him to ask clarification and later I would turn in an assignment and he'd say it wasn't what he wanted..Completely unclear and expects you to read his mind.very set in his ways , and unfair.. Either likes u or not . Takes off points for things that are correct.. Good luck

Intro geology and Earth Systems Science are really hard with Geiss. He doesn't explain things in class and expects very detailed answers on the test. He either likes you or he doesn't from the start.

I would not recommend this class for anyone that's trying to fulfill a science requirement, unless you are majoring in geology, or some kind of genius. You WILL struggle. Extensive reading of the textbook must be done in order to follow anything. He is not very helpful outside of class, at all.

do not take this class if you are not a geology major. he is not helpful and his tests are extremely hard. he makes fun of you in class if you don't know something. he assumes everyone in the class has already taken a number of college science classes.

Fun teacher in class, work is too easy. Material was review of the climate portion of hs bio and tests reminded me of elementary school. Learned good amount, but was far from challenged prob bc this was emergency course for seniors w/o sci. req. Beware that his grading is sometimes based on unrelated things, less nice outside class. grades fair

Great guy:this is correct. Great teacher?Debateable. Explanations in class are often vague/based on a prior understanding of material that few in the class have covered. Extensive text-book reading is needed to decode his lectures. Doesn't respond well to questions outside of class. Final grade = crapshoot based on how much he decides to scale.

Really great guy, just not the best teacher.He is very willing to help you out, but you have to do a lot of work on your own if you want to understand the material and do well. His tests are wack-no numbers! So basically they're just essays about physics. Good luck if you take this class!
