Great class! There are three exams and one paper due. Cyndi is very clear about what will be on her exams and gives you an opportunity to have your paper looked at before it's due. Her lectures and activities are really fun and interesting. Highly recommended teacher!

Comment:

Very interesting and clear lectures. Her class is not boring at all and its great if you only want to learn because the tests and the way she grades the essays make it almost impossible to get an A in the class. You need to study very hard to get a B or a C.

This is a difficult teacher who is demeaning to students, rigid, plays favorites & enjoys shocking students by yelling loudly. Don't waste your money on a textbook; her exams are taken from her lectures exclusively but doesn't announce to class, setting students up for poor exam grades. It was by far the most stressful class I have taken.

Cindy was awesome. She's loud mouthed and opinionated but you cant help but love her. I never purchased the book as their was almost no info you needed for the tests from them. Got a B easily.

Nice lady.. Terrible teacher. 90 percent of the class fails all test.. She knows this and even announces it. She lectures but rambles and you lose the point of the actual lecture. If you miss more then 2 classes she automatically drops you..NO MATTER what the excuse is. If you can avoid this class do so and save your self stress!

She doesn't stick to point talks about her life experiences. Has all her notes written wrinkled pieces of paper. She is very unorganized. Don't take her class go with a different speech teacher. She pities people trying to get A's to transfer into UC schools and thinks it's ok to get B's or C's in her class. Don't waste your time in this class.

Bahti gives out no hardcopy study guide for tests. The tests are setup true false, multiple choice and definition fill in questions(no word bank)3 tests. Doesn't want her students to pass her class thinks she's teaching like a biological engineering class. 18 out of 25 people got below a C on her first test. The lectures are not clear she talks fas

I wanted to avoid puplic speaking classes for as long as possible, but the way she ran her class makes me want to take it all over again just for fun! It was one of my favorite classes EVER! Only 1 exam that was super easy. Take this class! You'll be happy you did!

I avoided public speeching and took interpersonal communications with Bahti instead. I loved this course, all exams are discussed, she completely prepares you. Not only are there NO speeches, it really makes you evaluate yourself and the relationships you are in. Definitely recommend her! Great course to fulfill the Speech requirement.

The student who dropped is wrong. We spoke 6 times in 18 weeks. 3 were mini-talks, 30 sec. to 2 min. long. 3 were major speeches, 5-6 minutes. I never missed class, never saw her be demeaning, make fun of students, or get mad. You're in college now, dude. Attend class, do the work. It's not a free ride. Speech implies speaking!

Excellent teacher. Upfront about class requirements, sticks to them. 3 major speeches, 3 mini-speeches, 1 test based on lectures at mid-term, outside speaker report (brief). Speech evaluations include praise and constructive criticism. Very encouraging & understanding of public speaking apprehension. Class became family by end of semester.

I found her to be very demeaning. she enjoyed making fun of students in class and got mad for such odd reasons. won't even let you drink water bc it "creates noise." if you hate speaking but want to be forced to write and makes speeches almost once a week, take it. if not, there are other profs who only make you speak a few times in the semester.

I didn't find her funny at all. She talks so much about her life that I think she, and her students get lost! She's condescending and disrespectful to students, even calling names, though most are young and intimidated so they say nothing. I did! She definitely has favorites. So if you must take her class, my advice is kiss-up, a lot!

Cyndi is very smart woman! She is loud, energetic and loves to teach her stuff. Class is very interesting, her lectures make the time fly and the activities are fun! Her tests can be hard, but if you study enough you'll realize that they aren't that bad. 2 tests, 1 final and 1 paper. Also, don't miss more than 2 classes, or you'll fail the class!

biased towards women completely, not going to lie. funny lady, very out there, but pretty damn funny. gets the class to know each other and be friends. grades too hard on women. grades too hard most of the time period. not understanding, very egotistical. loves herself, not a bad class though.
