I had for three semesters I cannot praise her enough She cares about students loves to hear their perspectives Her classes involve readings as hw then in-depth discussions in class She does a lot of the talking but participation and attendence is key in her class Hard to get an A on papers but eventually you get what she wants

Comment:

Dr. Svogun is a fantastic professor. She is understanding and truly cares about her students, and gives you the feedback and opportunities to do well. If you are a non-English major, just do the readings, participate in class, and try your best on the papers. Dr. Svogun is not easy but she wants everyone to succeed and wants to help if you ask.

Comment:

Dr. Svogun is very intelligent and knows what she's talking about, but isn't the best professor. She can assign large readings over only a few days, and will give quizzes on what you read. Her feedback is brief and her writing is very hard to read. She didn't like my class for some reason, and it showed.

Comment:

Dr. Svogun is well educated and knows how to analyze pieces of writing. The course is mostly lecture unless people in the class challenge interpretation or viewpoints. You do 5 writing assignments/essays in total which is an average amount. There is no rubric to follow which can be hard but if she likes your writing then you will be fine.

Well, first off no one is able to read her terrible handwriting. She doesn't give support when needed. Very hard greater, doesn't seem to enjoy kids. Wouldn't recommend taking any of her classes.

Dr. Svogun is exceptionally smart and cares deeply about the work. With her though, you have to be ready to work hard and be bored in lectures. She does assign a significant amount of reading and papers, but she is more than willing to look a paper over with you and help you edit out your draft. She is very fair.

Dr. Svogun is one of the best professors I have had. While scanty on the emotional side of things, her classes were very relevant and interesting. She is a very intelligent professor. I got so much out of her class....definitely suggest this class and professor!!!

Intelligent woman. Has her expectations set on the syllabus and doesn't stray from them. However, VERY reasonable grader and reasonable workload. One of the best ENG150 professors to get. Thoroughly discusses texts and listens to students opinions of what they read. Not sure how missing class affects grade but she does take attendance every class

Dr. Svogun is possibly the best professor that I have had in my years at Salve so far. I am a Business major who took her class to get my english credit. She is a genius and is very knowledgeable about what she is teaching, she is also very kind. Many people say that she is bland or unenthusiastic, those are the students who got bad grades.

Dr. Svogun is unoriginal and bland. I am sure she is intelligent...but she is very set in her conservative beliefs. She is a cold fish, awkward to interact with, and not a passionate professor...

she is smart and listens to what her students say. expects her students to read materials and assigns a lot of writing assignments. when discussing texts in class she doesnt offer any opinions but merely cites critics and what they thought about the peice. this can be annoying and it can be difficult to know what she expects of her students.
