Comment:
It is always fun when I go into rehearsal under Dr. Booth. He is always passionate and loves the music. He strives to help us succeed and pushes us to be better than we think we can be. He is a quality leader and a great educator.

Comment:
Dr. Booth conducts his classes very much in the way that he conducts his personal life--Disorderly, confusing, not to mention just plain rude. He doesn't seem to have anything together, but watch out, because he will blame YOU for it. He threatened to kick students out of his (old) studio (against university policy).

I think that's the number for WS. It's been awhile. Dr. Booth is one of those people you either get along with or don't. While I respect his musicianship, I often felt bullied and singled out in his class, which to me isn't an effective teaching tool. He also has the habit of recycling pieces too often.

Dr. Booth is a man of his word. He means what he says, good or bad. I have great respect for him because he is a great conductor! Wind Symphony is superior because of his fine work; however, it is a class that keeps you on your toes. He is not afraid to call you out, know your part! Also, I agree about his ego; very large.

He is the musician's musician. Expect to work, or get out. I appreciate and value his honesty with the ensemble. Most people think he's a jerk, but, then again - most people are wimps. Take that how you will.

Comment:
if dr. booth is doing such a great job, why does he say the same things in rehearsal every day and people still can't play their instruments? also, his students are obviously complaining about his ego when the majority of them have the same attitude. maybe it's not dr. booth, it's the students, or maybe a combination of the two.

There are two sides to Dr. Booth. On one side there is a very experienced and expressive conductor who has a strong passion for music. On the other side there is a very egotistical man who likes to criticize. I have the upmost respect for him because i could never do what he does, he just needs to lower is ego and have some fun.

It's true, he does have a bit of an ego (he'll claim not to). He is a very expressive conductor and he expects nothing but your best efforts. He's also pretty easy to get along with.

Dr. Booth has an incredible gift of developing a players sound, he does so because he's to damn stubborn to accept anything less than one's best. He's why I'm at Wright State.....So if you don't appreciate his dedication and love for music, you can go ...well you know!

He seems to know absolutely NOTHING about woodwinds and is WAY too full of himself... Might I suggest Jon Waters, Mike Stewart, and Dr. Jon Woods at The Ohio State University if you are serious about music!

Dr. Booth is tough but fair. You will learn a great deal about music from him but be careful not to tell him to many secrets.
