Deb Maury is one of the funniest people I've ever met. She made coming to class everyday something I truly wanted to do. I learned so much from her in the two semesters I knew her. She is extremely caring and willing to help if you reach out to her.

Comment:

I finally understand why literature is important. It reflects history and helps us understand how people from other countries live and what is important to them and why. Americans ignore everything outside of their own culture. I get it now!

I cannot believe anyone would call Dr. Maury lazy! She is the most energetic professor I have ever had! She moves around and through the subject she is teaching on any day which some people who would rather be lectured to just don't get. She covers the lesson from different angles so everybody can get it. It's planned, not disorganized.

She is simply lazy and unclear. It has been over a month and not a signal grade has been posted. She doesn't help prep for the tests at all. If I didn't have any Spanish in high school I would be failing.

Such a hilarious person and she will always keep you interested in class. Takes attendance. Her tests are extremely easy and she will tell you exactly what is on them ahead of time. The online homework sucks but you get 3 tries and it gives you all of the correct answers on the first try so it's impossible not to get 100% on the homework.

She has a lot of energy and is a little different, but very entertaining. Makes you work hard, but still has fun doing it. Speaks a little too much English, but has good stories. However, when she speaks Spanish it is very fast. Befriend her and he knowledge will benefit you long term.

I had her for conversation class. She spoke a lot of english in class. If you are a serious spanish student, or if you want to improve your oral skills don't take her class. You will lose more spanish than you learn. She plays favorites.

All right, I don't know about (Dr?!) Prof Maury playing favorites, but she is UNDOUBTABLY unprepared for class. She just makes up things on the spot, and it's very unhelpful. She is a little easier... but in a bad way, IMO. She doesn't take points off for accents. Hello?! Wrong accents = Wrong word! She's just an awful teacher.

I'd recommend her despite the fact that she's not the easiest of the 101 professors. She's fun, and you will learn a LOT from her.
