Comment:

Henshaw is very caring but has no idea what she's doing. Our course had to become an online course because of COVID and the department chair had to help her because she doesn't understand technology. No clear expectations, never grades anything, talks in circles, no feedback on lesson plans. Very stressful when you have no idea what to do

Comment:

She's a sweet person, but I found it difficult to pay attention in class b/c I couldn't understand her. I felt very unprepared turning in work since there are no rubrics, we were given group projects last minute and our final portfolio was assigned with no written expectations. I got an A and didn't put much effort in, but I was always stressed!!

Comment:

Professor Henshaw is honestly such a nice and caring person! HOWEVER, she doesn't know what she's doing pretty much all the time. There's only 4 grades for the class, so if you do bad on one, you're basically screwed. But if you actually manage to get an A on her exams, which most people in my class did, you'd be all set.

She is a great person and has a very good heart BUT when it comes to being a professor, you need more than just that. She does not collect any assignments during the semester nor lets you know that there is anything due until the end when you have a portfolio due and you have to cram it all together! No organization or expectations sadly.

This professor is an angel at heart, who only wants the best for her students. However, the lack of effective communication in expectations and out-of-class work and delays in grading creates a lot of stress when it comes to this introductory course. Be prepared to teach yourself.

She can be a bit confusing at first, but if you are ever unsure, she will sit right down with you in the middle of class and clearly explain what she wants. The syllabus is long and detailed but again, she will fully explain and re-explain. She is very understanding, kind and willing to do what it takes to help us be successful. Amazing lady.

Sweetest woman ever! Just show up and do what is required and easy A! She gets a bad rep because she can be disorganized and unclear at times however if you just go up to her and ask anything, she will try her best to explain. She is so nice and just wants everyone to succeed as future teachers. just have some patience and you will do fine!

although she is a very nice woman, she is a prime example of what a teacher shouldnt be! very very disorganized, looses your papers, gives zero feedback, leaves you very unprepared for your first teaching experience, avoid her if you can!

Not sure what all the negativity is about. She's difficult to understand, but she truly cares about her students. If you take the time to talk to her and get to know her, she will love you and you will love her. She definitely plays favorites, so become one of them and you're golden!!

She is the absolute worst professor. Do not take a class with her. You cannot understand her and never have any idea where you stand in the class. She doesn't teach and the only way you learn is from the book. She never uses the book, but it is a good resource to learn something from the class.

I took this class hoping for an easy A. I'm sure I will get that A but it was so not worth it. I learned nothing that I can use to further my career except perhaps what NOT to do as a teacher. She didn't explain anything and was unprepared the entire semester. I strongly suggest not taking this class even if you just want to pass.

If you want a good starting experience do not take her. The lesson plans are expensive to put together and are a joke. Books are expensive and you dont use them. Not worth the worry taking her. Strongly disadvised-__-
