Comment:

This course had a lot of reading, discussions paragraphs, an assignment each week, and 1 large project that you continually work on throughout the term. Extra credit is available if you miss an assignment or don't do too hot on a few. Overall I really enjoyed the material, teaching style, and lectures - the Prof. made it very interesting!

She was a fine teacher, I just didn't enjoy this class because it was very uninteresting and she didn't do anything to make it fun or exciting. She makes you watch a lot of videos that aren't important to quizzes or assignments. This class was just a waste of time but it is pretty easy to get a good grade. Comment:

What I liked most about this class was the option of extra credit. She grades pretty easy in my opinion and you don't have to go in depth into reading the textbook, just read what you feel is important (that is if history comes easily to you). Tests were SO easy, they were the same exact questions on the weekly quizzes. You get a PAGE of notes.

Comment:

She is possibly the most scatter-brained professor I've ever had. She is extremely controlling.. for example, she believes that her syllabus is a contract to which she will use to grade you accordingly. However, it is completely acceptable for her to go off script of her "contract". She expects you to show up to every class or she'll dock u points.

I was reading through some of these reviews on Elizabeth but just wanted to give some insight if you are planning to take her. She is a nice person but awfully annoying to listen to in lecture. If you do the work you'll get an A, she's an easy grader. She is very understanding and lenient if you put in the effort. Oh and NO PHONES...

The whole class is a lecture. No time for a breather or break. says take a five minute break and were starting up again in just one minute. All she does is talk for the hour and fifty minutes but since attendance is graded, I had to go.

Very heavy on lectures, goes off on tangents and gives long winded answers so it's difficult to enjoy listening. Often cuts students off when they try to add in on discussion or ask questions. Review for midterms and final is absolutely insane, way more work than is needed to do well on her tests. She's a very sweet person, just irritating.

Only showed up to class on time a few times so we had to wait in the cold. Lectures are poorly structured and mainly just discuss the trips she goes on. No structure to notes. Most learning is done outside of the classroom. Attendance is mandatory, but not much is really gained from going to class.

She is great! Her lectures are amazing and really helpful just take notes and you will be golden! You do need a book but I rarely used mine. She does give two late passes per class and they are a life saver on any assignment when your in a pinch. She is a pretty light grader but is point heavy through accumulation of assignments. I loved her class.

She seems like a nice and intelligent person but her lectures are so god awful boring and showing up is mandatory so its rough. Homework and quizzes every week but if you read they are easy. if you love history itll be fine but if not stay away.

She's clearly passionate about her job, and I can respect that. It's difficult to sit there all class and listen to her lecture without a power point to guide your notes. She is willing to help students through assignments, but she does expect a lot of work to be done. Definitely for those who like a challenge.

I love this teacher. I have taken several classes with her, and her curriculum is simple, and she makes it clear what she expects. She gets a little ranty, but still very engaging to listen to. She also allows you two late passes every term, which is very helpful.

There is a lot of material, prof. milliken helps with weekly class outlines and detailed study guides. Online review quizzes really help with the exams. When I needed help outside of class she was very accessible and helpful. She can talk a lot in class at times when students are not prepared to participate. I liked doing the project.

Comment:

She is very understanding and makes history interesting, which can be very hard to do. I took her online class and she was very helpful. I feel like I learned so much, she has a very easy to understand teaching style. Like any history course, there is a lot to read but the topics were all interesting. She is very willing to work with students.

Comment:

Very understanding of students situations. In the middle of the term my mother figure passed away very unexpectedly and she was very understanding and gave me extra days to do assignments and make up a test. The class was pretty easy and there wasn't a lot of projects or that many papers.

I would not take her again. She gives tests every 2 weeks and she blabs a lot ! She is nice but can be annoyed really quickly. Be prepared to read a lot and have a quiz at the beginning of class.

Shes the worst! If u like to meet new people, DO NOT TAKE HER. She will hate you. She gives out test every two weeks and they are pretty tough. She lectures the whole two hours, and her voice is really annoying.
