While attendance is not taken, show up! This class is difficult but he always answers emails very quickly. Also sit towards the front if you have trouble hearing.

Soft spoken, be sure to sit near front. Doesnt get through all material in class and expects you to finish lecture notes. Has trouble communicating what he wants in quizzes and hw, you will have to read his questions multiple times. Quizzes can be brutal, often harder than hw. GPA killer. Avoid if at all possible.

This is a hard course. Very intelligent professor, overall the course was valuable. I felt overwhelmed at times because of the amount of content he pushed us to know. Lecture notes are online. Tests are pretty hard and require far more time than is given. I found the lectures to be really boring and difficult to focus and get involved.

Excellent CS professor. Lectures are full of great info and it's always nice having the lecture notes available. Course was quite difficult though and did require a good deal of time/effort. Be sure to go into this course with at least one buddy you can count on. Otherwise, you may end up being disappointed with your team members.

If you're a CS major you NEED to take one of his classes. Lectures are long but packed full of awesome info. He has tons of experience in computing and it shows. Assigns lots of homework, but it's always necessary. Only bad thing is the tests. They aren't ridiculously hard but he doesn't give you the full class to take them which sucks.

Eugene is WAY to smart to be teaching an intro to computing class. It's obvious that he knows a lot more about computers then just teaching an Intro Python language, but he's a super nice guy, and helpful.

Decent instructor once again. Wallingf is an excellent communicator of ideas, but some things do require a careful read through the notes. The lecture notes aren't as refined as in cs3540, but they're still quality. Work the homework. Study for exams by understanding the content, interacting with the lecture notes, and practice. no textbook req.

Quality professor here! Lectures are jam-packed and gives you a full 75 minutes worth of information. If you don't fully understand or forget something, you can always go back to the session readings which are a great supplement. I wish every professor did this. Homework is challenging, but doable. Be persistent and you will find a solution

Wallingford is one of the best professors I've had for any college class. He's passionate, articulate, and he's really helpful! He does a wonderful job at conveying all the course information. His homework assignments are a little challenging, but you learn a LOT! Take his class!

Quizzes/Tests can be a bit tough, but he does give you everything you need to ace them. He loves elegant solutions, which is awesome. The class seems daunting, but it's doable. He's really soft-spoken, which tends to put you to sleep, but if you can stay awake he has really interesting things to say. Great professor.

Very relaxed speaking and presentation in classroom; beware of forgetting that there's a lecture going on and letting your attention wander! Assignments are on the challenging side. Good, but probably different from what you're used to.

Nice and tries to explain things well but can be boring and redundant at times. Labs aren't too difficult; he is a good grader. Tests, however, are long and arduous. Overall, not too bad.
