Love him! For Micro, he is a good teacher. Uses analogies in class to describe things and really tries to make sure everyone understands. In Macro, he has videos to watch on Blackboard. If you understand him, you will do fine. His tests are just like class. But if you're confused, good luck.

He is a great Microeconomics (101) teacher but a horrible Macroeconomics (112) teacher. Take him for 101 but skip him for 112.

Great teacher, explains everything simply so that everyone understands. Very funny guy and his lectures are interesting. His tests are also very easy, they're word-for-word what he says in class. If he recognizes you he'll talk to you in the dining hall.

ECON is one of those subjects that you either love or hate. Dr. Maddox gave me the opportunity to think for myself and share my opinions in a nurturing environment. He is open to other ways of thinking besides his own and will always let you express your opinions and theories. Be prepared to actively participate in class.

Comment:
Maddox is a nice guy, but cannot teach. His online textbook is easy enough, but when the actual tests come around, it will not help you. He'll take simple concepts and make difficult to do on the tests. He's also very prone to making mistakes on his tests...so if no one catches them, oh well. Do not take him, wait until main or take someone else.

Dr. Maddox is a very fair professor. His exams in Intermediate Micro literally come straight from the practice problems you get during the semester. People who complain about him are typically the people who are horrible at math. If you put the effort in, you will get the grade you want.

He has a Southern accent, so it is sometimes hard to understand. His handwriting is hard to recognize after class as well. Personally I found his videos are helpful, but the class notes he uploaded have no answers so it is hard for you to review afterwards. Also, very difficult tests! I am gradually losing my interest towards Economics.

Comment:
A relaxed, understanding and respectful professor. He tries his best to get the materials through to students but honestly does not do a very well job. Easy to lose his train of thought and he makes careless errors that students have to point out. To do well in his class, pay absolute attention in class, do the homework and approach him for help.

Hes a pretty chill guy, he really cares about Econ and knows his stuff. But he likes wants you the class to figure out stuff by itself. He sometimes wont answer questions because he wants you to figure it out for yourself. This coupled with the old and almost useless textbook makes for a pretty challenging class. Also his tests are tricky and hard

He's a nice, down-to-earth guy. His tests are really hard, and he strays away from the textbook occasionally and goes off on a tangent. Study A LOT for this class.

He's an amazing teacher. His videos are golden. If you ask for help, he will give it to you. He makes the effort to get to know you and help you. Don't think it's gonna be easy. Work hard and come to class. not an easy A but he lays down a great foundation to economics. *Hint* Watch the videos and work out the problems before the exam.

Great guy. If you don't agree with his teaching style, either learn to, or study on your own. Always willing to help, and tries to get you to learn as much as possible. Take his class, and be patient.

He is a truly nice guy who will remember your name and say hi outside of class. However, his teaching is somewhat confusing and he occasionally confuses himself! Always funny to hear abou thim asking students for help when he has lost his own train of thought. Not an easy A but you will not fail or get a D unless you try.

Awful, awful teacher. Tests are big part of grade and are based on his incomprehensible lectures and material tested is often not well covered in class. Avoid him at all costs!

I've taken all his classes. He makes the most simple concepts into obscure hour-long classes. But he is very helpful and nice outside of class. He's great to know and talk with, but when it comes to tests and grading, it's just hard. Additionally, he is the only way to B-school at Oxford.

by far one of the hardest classes at oxford, do not take it unless your gonna study at least 2 hours a day or desperately need it to graduate. seriously, it will kill you. his tests are hard as hell, the multiple choice is SO obscure. its very hard if not impossible to get an A
