Comment:

I liked him as a professor. Stats got a little hard at the end but he helped me through it. He would go back in to see if you can receive credit for some of the questions you got wrong to make sure that you have the grade you deserve.

Comment:

His grading is heavily test based, and tends to show favoritism early on. At the end of the semester I had missed 3 out of 42 classes which dropped my average by over 4.8 pts. The issue is, you don't get to chose which professor you take. With that being said, if you get stuck with him good luck.

Fantastic professor! Very relatable and funny, yet still professional. He is a very picky grader, but he tells you up front how he wants things done. 10/10 would definitely take again.

Comment:

Kulis is a cool guy, but for upper level math courses youre gonna have a rough time. Lots of groupwork which is helpful. Tests are tough and hes a ridiculously/ unnecessarily picky grader. Hes funny but a just an ok teacher.

Comment:

Mr. Kulis is a very great teacher and person. He's intelligent and cares about his students and their success. Calculus is a tough class, but he's willing to help outside of class and is always in office hours. Very funny and personable in class too. There is some graded group classwork so get a good group. Definitely take his class if you can!

Mixed opinions. He is really knowledgable on statistics, and is super friendly with students. He really encourages you to come see him for extra help. He puts a lot of the responsibility to learn on you, and is generally pretty accommodating, unless he feels that in his opinion you are not working hard enough, then he can be unreasonably strict.

He is a very nice guy, but him teaching calculus 1 isn't the best. This was his first time teaching the class so he was all over the place and sometimes made it hard. Calculus isn't hard but Kulis made it super hard and confusing. Exams are hard, but if you do the work you'll be fine. Remember, it isn't the professor fault if you fail, it's you.

HE THINKS HE LOOKS LIKE KEVIN BACON??? ALSO REALLY NERDY WHICH MAKES HIM KINDA CUTE. HE GRADES HOMEWORK ON IF IT IS RIGHT OR WRONG, NOT COMPLETION. HE DOESNT CARE IF YOU MISS CLAS HOWEVER, IF YOU ATTEND ALL HIS CLASSES AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER HE GIVES YOU UP TO 100 POINTS.

Simply put, if you do the work you will pass. If you need help he will respond via email or telephone promptly. I had Mr. Kulis for Statistics and the class was hard but he always contacted me back and made sense of the assignment. Mr. Kulis is an enjoyable professor with great knowledge of the course material and has a terrific sense of humor.

All he does in class is state theorem definitions and give one or two examples without taking the time to explain their connections. You could just get that from the book. We're expected to learn during the group work but nobody knows what's going on. I never felt comfortable approaching him so I had difficulty asking for help.

Taking online with him. Statistics is hard but he trys to help. Went to see tutor to understand better. He gives you great amount of time to accomplish everything. Responds prompt to emails.

...Do the homework that he gives, or practice problems, you can go to the learning center for help, and hello answers are in the back of the book, you can check. He does grade harsh, but thats college. Group work is a chance to reach out to class mates, and its a great time for kulis to help if you need it. Hard work pays!

He is humurous. Sometimes I get the impression he is trying to hard to get us to give feedback. Calculus is a one-on-one learning so while he wants to help people in class, he can't help us all, or waste too much time. Calc is hard for first time learners thats for sure, and he goes deep into it, so be ready...

He moves way too fast and grades group work too harsh. I had a C at midterm and F on the final and when i went to talk to him about it he wouldnt talk to me he said to call him back in 3 weeks cause he was going on vacation.

Do not listen to what any negative comments. Killer Kulis was flippin sweet. If you have a good sense of humor you will love him. His Tests are hard if you don't don't do the homework. Just ask questions until you fully understand it. Be prepared to bomb your first test, but it only enourages you to work harder (he drops the lowest grade).
