Comment:

Professor Auton is a great professor, his classes require you to do your readings and think the subject matter through. You can leave your political bias at the door as well, Auton is not here to push an agenda but to give a clear picture of whats happening in the world. For any Political Science major this course is a must and so is the professor.

Graeme is an amazing professor who has a vast understanding of everything public policy to international relations. His lectures can be long but they are so interesting and if you ask questions, he ALWAYS has the answers. He also requires a lot of reading but his classes are so worth it!!!

Comment:

Auton is an exceptional professor with a lot of experience in his area of teaching. His lectures may be long but they are very interesting, I love when he speaks of his travels. He is a pretty straightforward grader, you have to do your work and spend time on it and if you do you'll get a good grade. No busy work. I love his classes, I recommend.

Very intimidating teacher, but he is very helpful if you visit during office hours. READ READ READ everything, when you're supposed to. Don't waste your precious paper-writing time to catch up on the mountain of reading you were supposed to do earlier. Get a tutor & go to office hours if you want to succeed.

Really didn't like this class. Every day was Graeme reading straight off a PowerPoint. I felt that the homework assigned for the class was a bit much for a 200 level class (often 400-500 pages a week). I never got a clear sense of his expectations because we only did three essays. I'm sure if he'd given better feedback I would have liked the class

I love Dr. Auton, he is one of the greatest teachers I have ever had the pleasure of taking a class from, I took two extra electives just to be in his classes. I can't praise him enough, I LOOKED FORWARD to his classes. If you are interested in History, International Politics, or the world in general, hes your guy, I wish I could take another class

Great professor, man, and role model. There to answer questions before or after class. Getting to know Dr. Auton is a must. Attending class is highly recommended, regardless of attendance. You will learn a ton of information!

Great guy. All around great professor and great course. Wonderfully taught. Two essays, one for the midterm, one for the term paper, no final. You have to use the textbooks only for the essays, but you don't have to keep up with the reading in order to find info. Definitely take if you can.

This seems to be a class Graeme enjoys teaching. He does not go off topic here because this is one of his areas of interest. Very relevant info in today's global society. Be prepared to write a few Chicago Style papers.

Dr. Auton is awesome! He keeps you coming back again and again with his dry humor. The answers to the essay prompts are very clearly given in the text, so be sure to look at the section that corresponds to what you're writing and you'll probably get A's. You'll likely get a 4.0 if you show at least some interest in the class. Take the class!

Graeme is a great teacher to have, but he doesn't exactly stay on topic. he is helpful when he needs to be, but only in the classroom. outside of class you have to try and catch him in his office hours (though he's never there) or email him (make sure you mark it as high priority). I HIGHLY recommend him though cause he's a really smart teacher.

Very good teachers for intro. to world politics. A Lot of reading but just listen to his lectures and you'll do fine. Read sometimes to participate so that he gets to know you because he's a great teacher. I would take this class over again.

Comment:

Took Arms control class as my second 400-level class. Class was never boring, great leader of group discussions. Very personable. I wish I would have gone to his graduation party at his house the night before graduating. I heard it was great.

Dr. Graeme...excellent teacher, knows how to teach and keep it interesting. He would like you to do your work-that includes reading and research, participate in class and is very easygoing. He wrote me a great recommendation as well-very eloquent writer too. Took his int'l law class in '04; definitely likes his martinis and pizza :)
