Mr. Perkins did a great job teaching these courses. He gives a lot of homework. Luckily he dedicates the first ten minutes of class to help with homework problems. His tests are a bit tough, but he gives you an idea as to what he expects from you in class. He made math enjoyable to learn in class.

Soooo many homework and quizzes. The first month of school I was overwhelmed with all the homework. Get ready for 3-4 hours of hw and 2 hour quizzes each week. Lactures were fast and really didn't cover anything. ( covid -19)

Always easy to reach and spends 1-on-1 time with each student in class. His online class format (b/c of COVID-19) has been very organized and engaging. Yes, weekly homework and group quizzes, but it's fine because you need constant practice with math anyway. Drops lowest test score (out of 4). SUPER helpful during office hours. Great prof!!

I liked Mr. Perkins, his math skills are top notch. But with 3-4 hours hw a week, and challenging exams, the average for our 1st midterm was a high F and our 2nd was a D. Im currently retaking 3B with Butler alongside 5-10 students I recognize from Perkins class. I didn't feel like I was warned properly by these reviews so I'm giving my input.

Professor Perkins is an awesome instructor. His lectures are clear and easy to understand. If you dont understand a concept, send him an email and he will reply in less than 24 hours. In my opinion, he is the most kind and enthusiastic professors Ive had thus far at Hartnell. You can pass his class w/ an A or B if you invest some time and effort.

Explains how to solve problems well, but, he discourages, lies, and tells a lot of off hand jokes.

Professor Perkins is a really great professor, he breaks down the material in a way that it is easily understood and he posts the class notes online for students having a hard time grasping the concept or who were absent. Definitely, do the extra credit and be prepared to show your work on test, quizzes and homework.

It had been a while that I had taken a math class. With that being said, with Mr. Perkins class, as long as you did your homework, it would really help with testing. Another thing is that he also gives a review packet prior to the exams and the tests are very similar to it. He can be reached via email, responds quickly and has plenty of office hrs.

The best math professor I've had. He's really funny and makes the lectures fun. He is a dedicated professor who cares about his students and will do his best to help them succeed. He doesn't let the students use cheat sheets during quizzes or exams, but some quizzes are done with partners. He always grades exams and hw on a timely matter.

First C I've ever gotten, really hard class, but I don't like math. He gives a lot of hw, in 3 different types. 1 type is video guided. He is engaging in class, and answers hw at the start of class. His office is open to students. Memorize all the common derivatives, he quizzed on that a few times. No cheat sheet for tests, memorize it all to pass.

This class was overall great. Math 3A is taught by: given a lecture, given some homework and related problem sets, which are very helpful, quizzed on the material so that you can brush up on any missed concepts, and then given the exam. The format in which this class was taught was very helpful to the students.

Assigns homework every week. Encourages students to stop by his office hours if you need extra help. Quizzes can be somewhat difficult if you don't watch his videos or do the homework. Only 1 midterm. Having a graphing calculator is vital to most of the work done.

Perkins is one of the best profs. I've ever had. He's funny, approachable, and encouraging. I never thought I would enjoy math, but his class is very lax and easy to pass as long as you do exactly what is asked. His method of explaining concepts is so clear that he could have taught my stats course to a third grader. Very forgiving grader as well.

I consider my a pretty applied student. NOT the smartest but I am true believer in put in the hard work and you should expect to pass. Hardest class I had ever taken but I am glad I took it with Mr.P. Here is your key to pass. Once you get the syllabus, study it. Read the chapter or section, pay attention in class and do you hw. You want an A right?

Probably one of the best math teachers I've had. Very clear and organized when explaining the problems. Do ALL the homework! Its great practice for the exams. Also, for when pop quizzes come around. He's very funny. I never got bored in his class, not even for a second. If your stuck, ask questions !

Taking him online for stats. Notes and videos are good. Quizes are the same as the hw and examples in videos except with different numbers. Lots of word problems. You can work ahead which is nice. Only bad thing is that you have to pay $97 to use mystatlab to do hw on and you only get 2 tries on a hw problem so its hard to get 100 % on your hw
