I read all of these comments about being cruel to those asking questions. I had her for a lab course and if you asked something stupid or what was already supposed to be known or obvious from the manual then yes she would make you look stupid and I applaud her for this. Very intelligent person! I loved the class. Cannot be a slacker to do well.

she teaches the first half of the class. or should i say, "teaches." im typically an A/B student but she was impossible. she was discouraging and cruel. I only received negative feedback from her during lecture and emails. tests are difficult; zeller was AMAZING compared to her (he teaches the second part.) avoid at all cost.

Literally the worst teacher I have EVER had. She doesn't respond to emails and makes students feel completely stupid when asking questions in class. Toward the end of her being the professor of a 500 person class, there were maybe 25 attending. Definitely try to avoid taking her.

Literally the WORST teacher that I have ever had. If you see her teaching this class, be sure to DROP IT ASAP! her exams don't make sense and apparently EVERYTHING is important to know for the test. Says one thing is on the exam and yet you don't see it at all. I learned absolutely NOTHING in her class.

WORST TEACHER EVER and HARDEST CLASS. She is HORRIBLE at explaining concepts. Teaches very vague ideas and then expects you to know extremely precise things. NO STUDY GUIDES. NO CURVE. NO HELP. Try and take it somewhere else if you can or wait as long as possible and pray that a new teacher comes along.

Lectures are pointless (You're better off skipping the 8am to read the assigned chapters.). Reads off the slides during lectures. Not only cocky, but also mean to students. Assigns complicated and specific exams (while she provides you vague descriptions of what you need to study.) Overall, a horrible professor.

Shubeita, you are undoubtedly the worst teacher I've ever had! You say you want us to learn, yet you make us cram 5 chapters of intricate cellular processes in about 4 class sessions. You can't learn from that! Also,everyone has quickly lost respect for you do to the simple fact that you think you're so much better than everyone. You're useless!

I agree with the person below me. Her exams are ridiculous. She doesn't manage her time properly, so she will spend twice as long as she schedules on a single chapter and then have to rush through the next to make sure she covers it for the exam. Don't bank on Hester teaching the second half either, because she didn't for us. What a nightmare.

I want to start of by saying that Dr. Shubeita is really intelligent. She's the kind of prof. that is passionate about the field and wants to share that with her students. She starts the class off saying she will be hard on her students, so be ready. It is a hard class, so read the slides and do your best to follow her. You have to earn your grade.

Teacher in name only. She is completely worthless as an instructor and simply read PPT and end section of book with some of her own worthless stories. This is not teaching. Spent 20+ minutes of first exam wandering the class talking on her phone which was very disruptive and didn't seem to care about students trying to focus on exam.

Aside from her anal ways, shubeita is knowledgable. i did not find her very helpful during the class, you will need to rely on group work or study hard alone. Read the labs before your class . She is very square and believes her way or no other way. Dont depend on her being lenient in any way with scoring.

i dont know what all the other people were smoking when they posted positive remarks for Dr. s. She does know some of the material, but 60% of the time she doesnt, and reads directly from the text. You might as well stay home and read the chapters - youll save gas, and not have to listen to her try to explain a concept she really doesnt know.
