Comment:

Dr. Tartir is an amazing professor. He's very straight to the point. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it would definitely be if you attend class. Study the past exams for they are identical. You only need 20 out of the 40 quiz points offered in order to get an A for the quizzes. All in all, very solid choice.

Comment:

He really made calc 2 feel easier than the beast of a class that it is. He didn't have us do WebAssign, but had a bunch of suggested problems from the book to do and he would go over the ones we had a question on in class. Tests and quizzes had problems that were very similar to the homework problems, so do the homework.

I was scared the first month of class due to the difficulty, but he is an awesome professor. He is hard, but if you can put in the work, you will pass the class.

Comment:

Dr. Tartir is great! Don't even bother with the book. Just use his notes and pay attention to his lectures. Study the past exams- they're almost identical! He makes calc I very easy. The first chapter is review and I HATED him but stick it out! It gets much easier! The final is math dept. made and VERY hard, but Tartir curves and helps students!

Really did not have too much of a problem with the class or him as a professor, however be warned the final exam is very hard. The last 4 weeks of the course is 90% of the final exam material and he went through it way too fast. The first 12 weeks of the course was only a few questions on the final. Pay attention and prepare ahead for the final.

He's awesome! Super helpful & makes things easy to understand. Has no problem going back over things for you. We had a quiz almost everyday, which is extra credit points. He has a website where you can print out all the notes and homework. He doesn't collect it for a grade, but it really helps to do them and he answers questions. Would take again!

This man showers you with extra credits. In our class, we only had to score 20 points out of 40 possible points for the quizzes. His tests are extremely clear ( no tricks at all ). Throughout the course I had a good B, but guess what? If you have an F in the course but you get an A on the final, you get an A in the course. I got an A.

Dr. Tartir really helps you out a lot because he knows that the calc final is so hard. He was really clear if you pay attention. His tests aren't bad and his quizzes are really easy.

Dr. Tartir is an awesome professor. Go to office hours early with any concerns and he will work with you. He's extremely understanding and wants you to succeed. He puts all notes online beforehand so you can print them out and follow along (filling in examples) in class. Would definitely take him again.

Tartir defines his student expectations clearly. Attend class and keep current with his assigned problems and this class will be stress-free. Ask him about quiz dates as well as their contents and he will tell you. HE PROVIDES ALL OF HIS LECTURE OUTLINES ONLINE; this is rare for a calc teacher! He also does a brief pre-calc overview. Take him.

I'd say he's great! He does give pop quizzes, but, if you ask, he can generally tell you when the next one will be. He's always cheerful, patient and ready to answer questions. His grading criteria is very clear, and reasonably lenient. I'd take another class with him in a heartbeat. Homework is NOT mandatory, but it's highly recommendable!

Dr. Tartir is a very to-the-point professor. As long as you go to class, follow along, and do the homework you'll be fine. He also will help with any homework or questions during his office hours, which is great. I wish every math teacher was like him!

His class was sooo easy! I'm not a math person by any means. If you go to class everyday, do the homework, don't miss the quizzes (which are helpful and are a lot like his exams). You're an idiot if you fail this class because he made it so easy! I'd recommend taking it in the summer we didn't cover as much material!
