Comment:
Honestly the worst class I've ever taken. My class started with about 30 students and by the end of the semester we had 8 students left. Unclear grading- you'd get all 'yes' marked on rubric but still get like a 75% sometimes. Could've been an amazing class but the course description and how it was taught did not line up at all. A disappointment.

Horrible. His redundancies when speaking negate all meaning. His slides are entire pgs of info per slide (excluding examples), which are confusing and makes note taking impossible. All content is mostly from the textbook. Homework is much more difficult yet can be redone until 100% is achieved. My discussion section TA made the class manageable.

Comment:
This course was mixed with CompSci and Math, which puts all students who took the logic course in philosophy at a high disadvantage. Does not go in depth regarding the material that will be on the exam, very rushed. Went to office hours and was told to just practice instead of having the material explained. Do not waste your credits and time!

Comment:
He doesn't clarify what you need to know for the exams; there's a huge lack of explanation concerning its format and what you need to remember. He expects you to know the material but the importance of the material learnt in class isn't stressed enough. His exams consists of TF questions, fill the blanks (without listings of terms), short answers.

One of the most challenging yet mind-blowing intro courses I've ever taken. This course is not an easy A, but if you are a dedicated student it is an A you can be sure you'll be proud of. Informal Logic is a subject that comes to some easier than others, so assessing the difficulty of this course for a student body in general isn't possible.

It amazes me that people with bad grades just blame the professor by default. It's college, it's not always going to be easy. Professor Freeman knows his logic, he wants to help you if you don't understand. The tests are exactly like the homework and the practice tests he puts on Blackboard. It's your fault if you do poorly.

Absolutely brilliant professor. Prof. Freeman may at times be hard to understand buy his exams are extremely fair and if you can do the practice exams you will probably get an A. Prof Freeman really makes logic really interesting and, at times, kinda fun.

He is not too bad. Honestly I failed the first time and took the class over again beacuse I knew I could pass, which I did the second time. He does use outdated examples lol and rambles alot but he does know his logic. He is a fair challenge but this is college so why complain about that.

reading these comments make me angry. he has been the most respectful, intelligent, challenging teacher I have had. He is not weird looking... at all (rambling i understand, but his looks?). the acne ridden idiots responding should probably think twice about what and why they are writing what they are.

It would be an insult to chickens to say his and writing is Chicken scratch! It completely unintelligible! He abbreviates things and expects people to know what they are with out saying! He rambles a lot too. He obviously understands Logic very well but He should change his teaching style and lean to write. He reminds me of a messier Bill Maher.

Comment:
He difficult to understand because he babbles and is most of the time incoherent. His handwriting is impossible to read making it hard to understand key concepts when you can't understand what he's saying. Homework is a big deal and very frequent. Exams are extremely difficult and no one in the class did well. I would not recommend this Professor.

Great professor for logic, very precise and clarified ideas very well. You'll need to read more and practice to fully grasp it, like math. One of the more analytic professors at Hunter so papers have to be tight and close to grad level, which is great for an intellectual ass-kicking. If you want continental discussions he's probably not for you.

He is technical. He knows with PRECISION symbolic logic. Lectures are not as clear and helpful as the book.I read the book THROUGHLY:i made sure i UNDERSTOOD the theoretical DEFINITIONS of key concepts throughout the class;did A LOT of exercises for hw and not-hw.All this made it EASY to get an A, not all of this is NECESSARY but im a philo major

Great Logic professor. Not so hot on other topics. Turns everything into a class on argument structures. Still, very clear on his expectations and relatively easy to please.

took him for two classes, one of them was philsophy of religion, very difficult to understand his lecures because he's always mumbling and stumbling. I'm not sure what he was trying to say half the time. Easily approachable with office hours but not very helpful in doing anything for you. Really hard to understand in lectures, must follow book

Took his course on Phil of Religion. Very organized and tells you how to get an A. However, he would dive right into the lectures which were very hard to follow and didn't explain the material very well. I did every reading, attended every class, and still got a C+. Didn't even bump it up to a B-? Come on. Knows his stuff, but impossible to follow.

He's alright, sometimes seems to get lost in his own words but tries very hard to make his point clear, perhaps too hard. Much of the work was online usually given a couple of assignments due for each week nothing unbearable.
