I took his PHIL V01 class online and loved it! You do have to buy his book for the class but IMO it's much better than some boring textbook, he makes everything really concise and easy to understand. Just submit your discussions on time and make flashcards for the exams from the study questions and you're fine!

I have completed around 8-10 other online courses. The assignments were not in order so i couldn't find what was due without physically searching. He spammed the notifications and arbitrarily locked random ones so that they couldn't be removed. It was such a mess, i dropped the class within the first month, and the actual information wasn't hard.

I took this class online and was NOT prepared for the work load, but of course that's my fault. He wrote the textbook for this class himself, so the format is boring. Overall, be prepared to read and study to get an A. You have to work for your grade, but the chapters have some interesting things to say and I feel like I really learned a lot.

You have to buy his book which is like 15$. Overall easy class, discussions once a week (either reply or post your own) half a chapter per week. Do the chapter questions at the end and study them!! Tests are proctored. Easy with minimal work. I got an A and totally bombed most tests, 5 in all, lowest score dropped. He is a cool guy.

Mr. Crowley was the most woke and honest teacher I've had. He worked in so many good lessons and is thought-provoking when he presents questions posed by philosophers like Immanuel Kant and others. His teaching style becomes more evident as classes go on & the critical thinking aspect of the class makes it an essential learning experience.

Just do the discussions and take the exams. I never did well on the tests but still passed with a B so it was whatever. Some of the study questions we had to do were too detailed while in the test, it was more to the point.

This class was very straight forward, read the chapters, answer the questions in the chapter review and review them for the exams. His grading scale is VERY generous, great online class, just discussions boards and exams!

I took this online class instead of ENGLV02B and believe it was worth it. Difficult class to take online since logic is tricky and you sort of have to teach yourself with the book, but I would do it again. He is very clear with grading and everything is straight forward. It is easy to receive an A if you do all the exercise and are a self learner.

Professor Crowley's textbook: Purchase on campus, inexpensive, but a great read! Participation: Required weekly discussions, but it's not hard/heavy. Tests: Average of 33 questions; 30 minutes per test. 1 try. A bit harder because you cannot move forward or backwards, so be prepared. Read the book, answer the questions and enjoy the knowledge.

Occasionally goes off topic. Sometimes lectures are boring, although the class discussions are interesting. Essay topics are interesting, but they don't seem to be relevant to the rest of the class content. Most tests are open note.

He does quite a bit of ranting about this, that and the other, and you may find that you do not always agree with what he has to say. For the most part however he was conducive to generating a healthy discussion. Of course, much of the class material was logic-based, and had nothing to do with the discussions held or the papers assigned.

Very easy class. Do every discussion, two per chapter, you answer one easy question of your choosing from the study questions, you don't even need to respond to anyone. Highlight the answers to all the questions and you have the answers to the tests, you're golden. Got an easy A and some of the stuff was really interesting (though useless to me.)

Professor Crowley's V05 class is pretty tough in the beginning, which is either a blessing or a curse. Symbolic logic (a la Bertrand Russell) is the second topic, and in my opinion it is the most difficult to familiarize oneself with. The other topics are challenging, but can also be fun. You also get to cover Aesthetics, and watch "Oedipus Rex."

This was a frustrating on-line experience.Students are left to "teach" each other on the discussion board and we all wasted hours trying to learn the material because there is no teaching from the professor. Tests are easier than the practice work, but it's like trying to teach yourself an ancient coded language without an answer key.

One of the funniest teachers i've ever had. You wont learn much if you go in thinking you know everything, so let the knowledge soak in. Definitely would take another class with the same teacher. NOT AN EASY A if thats what youre looking for, but it is an interesting class and a class worth its while.

Professor Crowley knows his subject and is an EXCELLENT teacher. He cares about his students and he wants them to learn. He offers extra credit each week. He wrote the text and it is easy to read. The key to this class is to answer the questions for each chapter and to keep up with the work. You learn a lot from him and he cares.

Well I took this class fall of 2011 online, You have a test every 3 weeks on 3 chapters. He gives you a study guide each week that has about 15-20 questions. All the questions that you are answering are going to be on the test, but out of the 3 chapters he he tests you on 33 questions. I got a B but i worked hard for it
