She is extremely unclear with grading criteria and assignment instructions. refuses to do demos or give any examples and then makes you redo assignments when she doesnt like them. Does not give out grades, as of February I have not received a single mark back. Avoid this class at all costs, it is a waste of time. Doesnt have email or office hrs.

Unknown grading criterias. Refuses to clarify the requirements of assignments and the goals of exercises. Doesn't do demonstrations despite the entire class being confused. Can be very nice and encouraging on individual meetings but it's not enough.

Doesn't explain things clearly, doesn't like being asked questions in class, says assignments are up to interpretation and then says you did them wrong. Her feedback is usually "redo the assignment" with no constructive criticism on what you did wrong. Also doesn't meet ACSD needs and says some sus things, don't take her if you have a disability.

She's engaging, encouraging, and very into helping you make YOUR art. So if you attend every class and put in a solid effort you will do well. But she is not clear on course requirements or grading style. Sometimes her deadlines pop up as a surprise so you have to push her for a LOT of clarification. But in the end I liked my classwork.

the MOST unclear. rude. very very weird. gives standard final grade of B+; does not mark anything as she "doesn't believe in grading". instructions could not be more unclear. just rude to the students, rude to the models. looks down on everyone. would not take again. EVER. doesn't use email. no office hours. good luck!

She is very skilled, very good. She doesn't give A's. Ever. Also a little bit too old fashioned, tried to get us to make slides (not digital, the old kind) of our work - which was a mission impossible.

Cool class, it was fun and felt too easy. Which is good, it was a fun class. She can be very weird, and there are many times where you simply don't understand what she is saying. But she cares a lot and always tries to help as much as she can. I liked her, she was really nice!

Janice sincerely cares about each of her students. She is very approachable. It is easy to be honest with her because she is understanding and wants to guide you through the course at the appropriate pace. Her quirkiness only keeps the course interesting. Loved her!

Janice is a very nice, but weird person. The class was interesting and fun. When you start, she makes it sound very difficult but it turns out to be quite a breeze. I wish it would have been hard as I think there are too many joke classes in the Faculty of Fine Arts already. Worth taking to loosen you up and teach you to have fun with drawing.

Janice s very supportive and encouraging. I learned a lot in her class and improved dramatically. She also taught me to be more confident with my work. Very likable person and she makes the class sound overwhelming initially, but it's actually very reasonable - timewise.

Very insightfull, and very passionate about ART. She is open minded and interessting. She gave great insights on my work; and helped me develop my own definition of ART ( and most importantly my own). I was very pleased with Janice; but remember she is no ordinary professor.
