This man really knows his stuff. his lectures might be boring at times, but you will really learn a lot more than what you THINK you know about geography. No homework, just read a little every night to follow with the lectures and you'll be ready for the tests which aren't hard. His teaching method might be a little out-dated but it really works.

I'm an excellent studen. I make sure I do my stuff. However this teacher's methods are terribly outdated and uninteresting. Thinks he's hilarious and goes off topic constantly. Doesn't really answer questions the way you expect to hear them. Tests are difficult and studying is mandatory out of the book! Super boring lectures.

I have took Brothen twice and both times I excelled, if you read the material and study then you will do fine. People that have wrote bad reviews about Brothen clearly do not read the material thus they fail.

His lectures are boring! He cracks unfunny jokes and talks alot about his boring life on his ranch in AZ. His teaching method is poor and does not assign homework or any other assignments. If you take his class, use a voice recorder and READ the book! Test are hard. I guess AZ secretly doesn't want him teaching there lol!

He is a very nice man but his teaching methods are outdated. You will be lost in a sea of confusion as there is no homework or extra credit to assist you in the learning process--only tests. Questions are difficult and force you to not only understand the terms and concepts, but apply them to hypothetical situations--not easy for the geo neophyte.

This guy is just plain hard to pass. Many people have taken the class and dropped after 1st test. Would not recommend anyone 2 take his class.3 tests,no HW,or extra credit. Don't let it fool you the tests are super hard. If u take the class and get a F on the 1st test. DROP IT.Many people get D's and F's on the test. Not worth it. Don't waste time.

Don't listen to the people who are saying "EXTREMELY HARD." Look, he gives you a study guide about 3 weeks before the test. There are no surprises, everything on the study guide will be on the test. You basically have all the answers in front of you. People who failed this class didn't put in any effort.

Very good teacher, really knows his stuff. Can be boring at times. Covers everything on the exams in his lectures and no surprises. Gives you an outline of all his lectures and what is going to be on the exam, you know upfront what to expect. Easy to pass. Very helpful if you need anything. Will drop others if they laugh at your answers in class.

Professor Brothen is an excellent teacher that knows his material extremely well. He's somewhat funny, outgoing and willing to help the best he can. However, his test short and Very Very Difficult to pass. Reading, studying, and Attending Classes is a Must if you want a chance at passing. P.S. If your not an early bird aviod his morning classes.

Very good teacher that knows his material very extremely well. Very detailed when explaining his points. He's outging and approachiable. However his test are short but very difficult even if you study. And attendace is extremely vital if you want to have a chance at passing his class. So if your not an early don't take his moring classes. Good Luck

SOO ANCIENT! for an ever progressing field like geography, he doesn't use slides or pictures or anything. He's terribly boring; hes PAINFULLY boring. REEAALLLYY NICE man, but just not worth the boredom and confusion of his class.

He lectures good, but not good enough to be considered a great teacher. All he does is talk, and you all write. You'd be completely lost or asleep if you just plainly write and listen. He would not write anything down for lectures. Also, even though the class is only around 1 & 1/2 hours long, with him, it feels like it is nearly 3 hours.

this is the most boaring class i have ever taken. he often goes off topic cracking jokes. when he is lecturing you dont know what the point is in your notes. if you were just writing, you'd be lost or sleep for the most part!
