Houston is a great teacher. He will make you work hard, lot of writing assignments (5 take home essays, 5 in-class essays and a term paper, lot of reading- 3 books). But in the end, it's SO worth it. He's very caring so just level with him and he'll try his best to help you.

Comment:

Absolutely, enjoyed Mr. Houston's English 1A class. His teaching is so infectious and stimulating. Although you need to dedicate and devout a lot of time to this class, it is so worth because you learn sooo much that will impact you for the rest of your life. Really a tremendous teacher with excellent teaching capabilities. Highly recommend him.

You will never get bored in Mr. Houston's class. His novel is really wonderful! The class was not easy but I learned a lot! Highly recommanded to those who are willing to learn English! He is always ready to help his students out. Actually part of he's grading is toward how much passion you have given to this class! Take him and get a good grade!

Comment:

Good teacher, keeps me awake and interested all the time. Although he gives more work compared with other professors teaching the same class. I had him last year. We had around 5 in class writing, 3 formal with one or two revisions and a Term paper. If you have the extra time and like english take him. Oh yeah we went from 30+ students down to 14.

Absolutely incredible. Take him. I was a native speaker in his ESL class (by accident) and decided to stay just because he enthralled me. His passions for the subject is palpitable and contagious, and he'll push you to be more than you have ever known you could be.
