He extends deadlines for quizzes as well. Im currently taking his math 105. I was never good at math but he explains it in different ways and he gets math isnt for evryone . Recommend!!!

Jesus Carbonell was incredibly lenient. The only work there is are: homework (XYZ), exams (XYZ), and quizzes. His quizzes are made by him and they're basically practice questions for you to do on your own time to help study for the tests. You do them on your own time and like the homework, he pushes back the deadlines so a lot. Great teacher too!

LITERALLY THE NICEST PROFESSOR EVER had him during the pandemic, but he was so understanding and always extended hw due dates! His notes are great and he makes sure people aren't lost. He knows the material well. Class is graded on mainly 3 tests, few quizzes, and final. should be a easy A if you know the material.

Honestly this is one of the best professors, goes step by step. You have to do most of your homework if you want an A. He was a good professor in class and also online.

Professor Carbonell is an amazing professor. He makes the subject easy for you to understand and is very helpful with any questions. Math is already hard but he makes it very enjoyable with his light hearted attitude. Very funny and approachable with any type of question. He gives 3 tests which he also lets u redo them if you get a bad grade.

I really would recommend this class to anyone that needs to take MATH102. His lectures and notes are legible and extremely easy to understand. He is very soft spoken, but if you sit in the front rows of the classroom (which, from my experience, most students avoided), you should be able to hear him pretty clearly.

He tends to go fast on lectures and sometimes doesn't explain things very good but if you don't understand make sure to ask questions so he can explain it and slows down. He also talks fast that it's sometimes hard to understand but you get used to his pace eventually. He isn't strict on the xyz homework. Will further explain if you ask.

If you struggle with math, I suggest taking another professor. He mumbles and is hard to understand, but also very lenient on grading. He posts homework problems online but doesn't check them. He only takes attendance the first two weeks of class. 3 exams and the finals. Each exam you get 1 page of notes, no notes on the final.

He goes a little fast during lectures, but I believe it's because he has to in order to fit in the material all in one semester. If you are having difficulty with the material, just study and go to his office hours. I skipped many classes but I taught myself and haven gotten bellow a 90 in my midterms. Lenient grader!

Carbonell teaches the subject very well but I just think he goes a bit too fast sometimes. I also think he tends to explain a topic to the point where the student don't understand. I still recommend, he's so nice! He helps during exams if you ask specific questions and he pushes xyz till the end of the semester. Go to live oak tutoring for help!

Honestly not the best professor. He can be confusing so if you struggle with math, just get a tutor or take another professor. I basically taught myself (but I'm good at math) and I did fine. He lets you use cheat sheets on his tests but not for the final. He's a funny guy and I like looking at him though. His tests were helpful study materials.

hands down the worst prof. any student can have. Lectures are incomprehensible&he mumbles majority of the time. The only positive thing is the open notes during 3 tests he gives during the semester (not only the final). The book/workbooks he has you buy and says are mandatory ARE NOT USED ONCE DURING THE SEMESTER! students must learn on their own.

3 exams throughout the semester plus a final. His exams are open notes so you can have anything out during the test. He also lets you raise up your test grade after you receive it back. He's not the best at explaining the math concepts, but if you read the book and work on your own it's not too bad. Only catch is no notes on the final.

Friendly, approachable, and a very slight accent. He goes over material so darn fast, but this is only because he needs to. His exams are very fair. Do all your homework. As soon as you get the final study guide, MAKE SURE you know it all. You'll score 100 on the final. Best choice for this tough class.

Not the best teacher for such a hard subject. If you are bad at math I do not recommend this professor, if you took calc before he's okay. He does not teach he just goes through the workbook. There are 3 test which are like his study guides. This class requires a lot of work online but he will extend the dates if students are done in time.

book: yes you need the book because thats how he lectures the class. tests: 3 exams and 1 final (soo easy, you can use one page of notes) except for final attendance: does not take attendance after a week of class study guides: his study guides are litterally the test. easy/hard: so easy! always studies 2 days before and got A's/B's on my test

Jesus Carbonell is a HORRIBLE teacher. His lectures consist of him reading directly out of the workbook and mumbling whatever he says to the first three rows of the class. Find another professor!

Professor Carbonell is very helpful and willing to work with students if they're having trouble. His test are pretty simple and he does have review sessions before each Exam. I do recommend going to class especially if Math isn't easy for you. Keep up with the class, don't fall behind it can be pretty difficult to catch up.

Class isn't mandatory if you've taken trigonometry in high school. Class feels long and lectures feel dragged out. One-page notes are allowed for exams. Online homework and quizzes are difficult if you don't know the material, but date completions are extended. Although, do not rely on the extensions because they do end.
