This class wasn't ever boring. He is highly entertaining and is very kind and helpful. His exams are typically multiple choice and written response. Since it's about learning how kids think, concepts are taught in a lot of different ways, so you have to go to class or keep up with online lectures. There is no textbook for 101 or 102.

Professor Hersberger is an awesome teacher! He makes math fun with all of the stories that he tells. Be sure that you understand the material in order to do well on the test. I work on math for about 4 hours every week and I have a 93 in his class right now.

A funny professor. Took him in the summer. He does go off topic when he tells stories, but I think it wakes up the class. If you do not understand the concept during class, he can simplify what he said if you ask him after class or during class. The stuff he goes over in class is similar on the test.

I am one of the few who had him in class, not online. I loved him. Great teacher, lots of enthusiasm, and really good at explaining math in various ways. I'm not good at math but I did well in his class and signed up for another class with him because he's so great. Also, he WILL make fun of you. Don't take it personally. He isn't mean, just joking

I love Mr. Hershberger! He is so nice and funny and makes the class interesting. You can tell he is passionate about elementary math. Very interesting class. Only 3 tests. No homework. No quizzes.

Taking online. He is a little hard to get hold of, but he will get to you if needed. It's a fairly easy class. But the tests... You have to watch the lecture. A MUST. It is written response. But if you watch the lecture, you are golden. I got an A on my first test. I like this class a lot. I recommend it.

I took this class on campus. It was recorded for online students. Jim is such a nice guy and he is funny! He really helps you think of ways to teach that would be easier for a student to understand. He knows what he is talking about and really has his students in mind when teaching. He wants his students to become great teachers as well.
