I had Dr. Jacobs years ago, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and he is still teaching and apparently still amazing, kudos! I was inspired to be a reading and writing teacher, and I was a great one. Now I'm writing novels of my own, and have just been published, www.carolcastle.com Thanks Dr. Jacobs, you rock!

Comment:

This class is too much work. For this reason, if you can, take it from a different professor. Jacobs really does care about his students and the subject. However, sometimes I liked class, and sometimes his comments and opinions left me hating class. If you don't mind reading a bazillion hours every day then you'll be ok with him.

This class is a TON of work--more so than a regular 2 credit class. HOURS and HOURS of reading (textbook and childrens books) but very worth it. I learned a ton. Dr. Jacobs can be intimidating. Read the textbook like mad--there is no midterm but that is where he tests for the majority of the final.

I love Dr. Jacobs!! This class was one of the best I have ever taken. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

BY FAR, my favorite teacher at BYU. He was such an inspiration. He made me love reading and help me understand the importance of reading to children. Loved the way he did grades. Loved how he made us read children's books. If you can, pick him! You will be so happy you did!!!

Can you say amazing?! Dr. Jacobs is one of the best teachers you'll ever have. His lectures are fabulous, we had interesting class discussions, and you'll just love him. I can't stress enough what a good teacher he is!
