Comment:

If you are looking for a class to fulfill the Honors requirement, you should look at the other options. You are supposed to develop your personal leadership style, but then are graded on either a cookie cutter model, or his personal style. Every assignment would be marked down, and after asking him you would still wonder why. Nice guy, bad class.

Comment:

The class overall is confusing there are no good directions for projects or papers. I seen no need in this class overall, and he is a tough grader for no reason. The papers are supposed to be about yourself, but he grades based of himself. It is not an easy class and will stress you out. I passed with an A, but was lost like the entire time.

There was one assignment that required to write 4 pages, I wrote 15 and barely got a low A. Most of my classmates got high B's for their assignments and didn't know why. I even meet with him and was still unclear on how to improve upon my paper. Directions unclear. Tough grader, hard to please cus' you don't know what he wants. Vague instructions.

Comment:

His online class is easy. No homework, strictly quizzes and tests and an overall essay at the end of the semester. However, he is not clear with the directions that is given for the essay and does not really answer your questions, where as he relies on you to rely on the examples that were given.

Overall, this online course included, quizzes, exams, and one final paper. The only thing I hated about this course was the final paper. It shouldn't be that hard and confusing to write a religion paper. This professor gave no guideline and criteria when the essay is worth 33% of our final grade. Very confusing and horrible communication.

He's a funny teacher, I won't lie but learning leadership from him was hard. A lot of stuff he said didn't make sense. I was so stoked for this class but I felt like I could teach myself more than he taught me. 300 word essays every other day was the most ridiculous part. He also gets off track a lot very easy.

Such an easy class online, literally go on once a month for his class. Grading is A1, tests are easy, barely read the textbook, one paper for the whole class.

I just finished this class. I am so glad, get ready to turn in essays of 300 words every other day. YES it is a writing intensive course, but he makes it extra writing intensive. He is a though grader, will give great feedback on papers turned in but never gave me an A. I did however finished the class with A, but it was a LOT of reading & writting

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Chernisky expects you to do a thorough job on your papers but doesn't explain how to do them. On top of that, he is a harsh grader. This guy doesn't seem to know his subject well on leadership. He may be a good religion teacher because that's all he talks about in a leadership class.

Took online, so not much interaction with professor. However, his announcements and emails are uplifting and cheerful. Syllabus and assignments clear and straightforward. Take notes throughout semester in preparation for the paper.

Easiest A ever! No homework. Tests and optional extra credit quizzes once a month. 2 page final paper. Joe sends CONSTANT reminders of everything so very easy to keep track. Very interesting if you do the reading; it will make your final paper that much better. Seriously easy A.

I took his class online & had a good learning experience he cracks me up with his clever responses. I had a family emergency during the semester but was able to keep up in the midst of it all because his clarity of assignments helpful study tips and reminders on due dates. He really wants you to succeed Awesome energy and Glorious beard!

Loved his teaching methods! Took online REL150 from him. 4 exams, 1 paper. Each of those are 20% of grade. The tests are easy & he gives extra credit for every test! The paper is also easy, the guidelines are clear & simple enough to follow. He is quick to get in contact with as well. Very enthusiastic about what he does. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

This class is easy and the professor is really helpful and throws out a lot of reminders. I took this during summer session and it was composed of four tests, a lot of optional quizzes available for extra credit and one two page paper on a religion you create.

There is a lot of reading. The book is interesting but the "class" itself is not. You read the book and take tests based on the book. Some of the questions are minutia. This class could have been better if there were some interaction. The very few times I asked questions, via email, the responses I got were not helpful. Maybe hes better in person?

Comment:

Professor Chernisky is a very good Religion professor! He's funny on what he writes and it also makes sense. Reading from the textbook on each different religions, made me appreciate it more! The tests are fun and he also does extra credit. Fun class!
