I love John, and I loved soc of rape with him. The class was kinda boring at times, but he made it really interesting too. He's a really easy grader and there are only 2 tests and 1 paper and they are both extremely easy- I would recommend taking him for this course!! :) John is also a really caring guy and super passionate about this course!

His classes are very boring and not interesting at all. he only has 5 essay exam through out the semester and he is very critical on them as well. no books what so ever. not very helpful when asking him for help. The only thing good about his class is that he drops the lowest exam score.

Love Hamlin. He is dry (it's a straight up lecture class), he's funny, it's hard to stay close attention, but his systems for testing and grading make up for it. Multiple choice is my enemy, so 5 essay style exams are a thumbs up for me. Definitely choosing the Hamlin for the rest of my soc electives.

This was a really interesting class. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you go and take good notes, it's really easy to get an A. Your grade is based off of 5 essay-style tests, and he dropped the lowest one. I'd definitely take another class with him!

I learned a lot and the tests were easy, but don't take the class at 8 if possible. He's got that dry sense of humor that's works anytime other than early morning : )

Tests are easy, especially if you do well with essay style ones. He is a really nice professor and cracks some random jokes to keep it interesting. I would definitely take a class with him again.

John's a great guy and can make you interested in some of the wierdest things, like graveyards. anyway, i took this class last year (not easy at 8am btw...) if you get the chance to have him as a prof, he's one of the best.

John is a super guy.His class was kind of boring, but since he showed some passion and cracked a few jokes it made it all right. He does essay question tests, and has a "study session" before those (which i really recommend--if you pay attention and then go to those sessions you'll totally get an A). A good teacher to have, you'll learn a lot

I took Graveyard studies with him, which to be honest, was a bit of a trial. Like my scores say, he is very clear and helpful. However, you will have no idea where the class is headed for 95 percent of the semester. I didnt get anything out of the class; however, this class in an easy A.
