Comment:
He has absolutely no objective foundation on which he bases grades. I seriously question whether he fully reads all the papers he assigns, given his scarce comments. He doesnt listen to students during lectures, especially if they dont have the same opinion as him. Its difficult to understand how he remains employed given the negative feedback.

Dont take him. First thing he says when going over the syllabus is that it is rare to get an A. His lectures are super boring and hes a hard grader on his papers.

I was very skeptical going into the class after reading his reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. He is very knowledgeable and explains all the books so thoroughly that you don't have to read much. You just have to take good lecture notes and pay attention in class.

Comment:
He's a tough grader, especially during presentations and will challenge your opinion in front of the class mid presentation. Also he is very conservative, as a liberal, I really did not mind. He did recommend a book that was written by a man who also wrote a book defending the IQ gap, I found that quite sad, but I enjoyed the two classes.

Comment:
Joseph is too Politically Correct. He said that cities with offensive names should be named with meaningless words, such as Acura. He doesn't like Washington because he owned slaves. PragerU tried to interview him

Comment:
He does not like hearing opinions that don't agree with him. Could be part of his Politics background, but he does not listen to others nor discuss. He told way too many personal anecdotes and did not know what was going on in class ever. He just tried to speak every discussion as much as possible, and didn't encourage the students to speak.

Honestly, if you can avoid him, do it. He is an extremely biased old geezer who doesn't like it if you don't share his opinion. I had to stop coming to class because he is so conservative and rude. His papers are endless and you have to have the EXACT same opinion as him to get a good grade.

He gives you EVERYTHING you need. Page numbers, quotes, citations, everything. When you write his papers, regurgitate his quotes and throw some of your own, well-thought-out opinions in there and you're golden. If you show up to class you don't even always have to read.

Knip is a good professor by and by. Sure, he tends to slip into preaching his conservative views time to time, but he truly knows and loves the material that he teaches. As a strong liberal, I still got As on all of my papers even though they were the opposite of his opinion since he respects a student who knows the material and can write well.

I wish someone would have told me he was not helpful. I asked him several times to meet with me and he was always busy. If you read the material you will understand what he is talking about, but he is not the nicest guy.

He's an old-school professor (conservative and uses a milder form of the Socratic method). Sure, this makes him come across like an ass sometimes. But I took many classes with him, and he is a good guy, cares about his students and pushes them. If you are serious about your studies (esp. if you want to go to law school later) you will do well.

Look, I am not the smartest guy in the world, and I am not the best student, but I can tell you there is no secret to doing well in Dr Knippenberg's class - read the assignments and be prepared to discuss them in class. If you engage intelligently you can do well. If you listen to his part of the dialogue and think you will be rewarded.

Dr. Knippenberg could obviously care less about his students. He asks questions, and then interrupts you when you answer. If by some miracle he lets you finish, he will patronize your answer whether it's right or wrong. He's arrogant and stubborn. I was battling against him all semester, which was upsetting because I was interested in the material

He´s arrogant and unpleasent. He makes test questions so difficult that it takes many hrs of thinking before you can figure it out what is he trying to ask.The only good thing about him is he´s available and willing to help by email.
