Gives study guides that you can use on tests. Very nice, fair. Easy, but boring class. Never there for full time slot. Will do well if you attend and fill in the study guides with what she says. Only problem was she needed to more clearly explain what it was she wanted on tests (description, definition?).

Comment:

Very monotone voice. Shows unbelievably boring videos. Had to sit through a 20 minute video watching a lady make a pot!!! Have to take lots of notes and be very thorough on your exams. Requires a good amount of study time but i got a B+, so I can't complain . Make sure you come to class well-rested or bring some stong coffee. Otherwise, ZZZZZZ.

Very knowledgeable on the subject, but very monotone in her teaching method. I learned alot, but as others said all test material is from lectures, do not miss a class. Write in as much detail as you can possibly fit for the tests...not kidding

Not a bad class, however, you do need to sit in the front of the class do to a soft voice. No tests, just simple papers were format was not a major factor. As long as the main points were made, she was happy.

I liked Dr Caleja's class a lot. I learned volumes. Being that the class was taught in Michigan though, I would have liked to seen more time spent discussing Michigan tribes. Fair grader, just show up for all classes, do all the work and you'll do OK.

Very interesting class if you like history. Dr. Calleja is very fair and approachable. Attendance is not mandatory but miss a class, it would be very hard to take her tests. Tests are 100% lecture material. Tests are 10 Q's w/2 topics each. Write a paragraph explaining both. Not hard if you take notes in class. If topic interests U, EZ class

As others have said, a little monotone, but very knowledgeable of her subject...none of her classes are easy, have taken two, but I would not say they are extremely hard either, I would recommend!

Dr. Calleja has a monotoned voice and can put you to sleep. Don't sit in the back of the class because she's hard to hear. However, she's very easy. There are three papers, small in class assignments, and boring movies. The class is a breeze!!!!!!!!

Take lots of notes, tests based on lectures. 4 tests, drops lowest. 2 reports (2-3 pages) on web-based videos (gives list and site). Don't miss a class, EXTREMELY difficult to catch up. Fair in grading, the more detail you put on tests the better (all essay questions). 8 video review sheets due last night, one video per class, including last class.

Don't take this expecting little/no work. She makes you earn your A. Take very good lecture notes and you'll be prepared for the tests. Mixture of T/F, short answer, and essay. Lab was interesting with trip to the zoo. Project fairly easy if you follow the directions.

Lectures are boring. You must take notes. She doesn't follow the book and gives you lots of info you won't be able to local in the reading. Tests are all hand written and you must used her lecture examples. No free thinking!!!!

Extremely boring! Have to watch a stupid movie every week. Tests are all essay, have to memorize about 40 terms when only 10 will be on the test and she expects you to write a paragraph about them. Can definitely pass with an A, but you will be spending plenty of time studying for it.

Good teacher I would recommend you take the weekend class. Your in class the first half of each Sat then you go to the zoo. Detroit zoo the first two weekends the Toledo zoo the last. You'll get out of the zoo by 2:00. Really helps break up the class. Must take notes. With data collecting and some writing an easy A. Not the most exciting topic.

Excellent instructor. Fair. Take good notes in class and study for exams in ANT171. Drops the lowest of 4. Complete all field work for 173 and 356 - time consuming but not difficult. I learned a lot in these classes and would recommend this instructor. Passionate and committed to her work. Makes the class interesting.
