Comment:

You'll have to self-study and work with classmates if you wanna pass. Study guides are useless. Tests were ruthless and the scores you get heavily affect your grade. Super tough grader. Will dock points off for anything. Not approachable, she doesn't stay for questions and leaves right away. Reads off of slides. Discussion heavy. Picks favorites.

Comment:

One thing that really impacted my grade in this class was test scores. I studied everything from the study guide and attended every class, but somehow I still found her exams very difficult. It might just be her grading criteria, not material of the course. There weren't many assignments, so exam scores will significantly impact your grade.

If you have to take CHAD70, DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. I would not consider myself super smart but definitely not dumb. But this teacher gives the WORST papers and assignments (prompts and criteria that make you want to scream) and grades super heavily (she will take points off for anything and everything). Boring lectures, DONT DO IT FAM.

She is my favorite professor I have ever taken here at SJSU. She takes her lectures slow and does not move on until every single one of her students understands. She has a passion for teaching ChAD and you can tell because she is very knowledgeable of the subject. She really cares for her students and shows that when you speak to her. A++ professor

Comment:

Sudha made studying for the tests difficult! The study guide did not correlate to the tests and the questions were way more specific than what she explains in class. Be prepared for confusing questions on tests. She also NEVER gives full credit on papers, she will dock points for something minor.

Really passionate prof that cares abt adolescents &dev. Opened up respectful vibe in classroom for engaging daily discussions. Ppts are a bit hard to follow since she just lists stats but they will be on the tests Write down everything. Gives study guides. Every lec is important! I missed 2 classes before the final &those materials were on the test

I liked Dr. Kaul. Her lectures are great; however, sometimes she does not go entirely in depth. She is always willing to answer questions. If you go to class and pay attention, and spend time studying prior to the test then you will most likely do well.

Easy Class, Go to lecture to get all of the notes, didn't really use boo until test time to look up terms that she didn't clarify or to gain further understanding. Tests don't match study guide and can be a tad confusing. 2 reaction papers, 1 term paper, midterm and final! Other than than topics are interesting but didn't like the teacher.

Just attend class and participate in the class discussions and you will do fine in her class. Her tests are not too hard as long as you study hard and pay attention in class. She is nice but I didn't understand how to format my research paper. Her exams were hard to me. It's important to go to class because that's where her exams are derived from, when I tried to study from the book. So... do not buy the book.
